Once my disability comes through...

 

Just practiced piano for like 2 hours. My wrists hurt lol

But I brushed up on Elliott Smith’s piano songs and re-learned the piano riff I wrote in the studio for one of my songs.

I don’t play enough. Every time I come back to it it’s like I gotta catch up to where I was before haha

 

Honestly I'd rather be working, but I can't right now, so I'm going to take full advantage

 

I want to become a much better piano player but I can get by with the material I write

When I took piano class this one dude just played Coldplay’s Clocks every fucking day

 

This is exactly why it exists, take full advantage.

 

I’ve had the last two weeks off transitioning/between jobs and it’s been glorious. But I’m starting to go stir crazy not working so it’s a perfect amount of time off I think for me personally.

 

And I live in California, the liberals want me to use all the safety nets. If not here then where??

 

You really have to keep up with it. I took lessons from age 11-16 and then stopped for 2 years and then tried to take a piano class at university. Everyone else was sight reading both hands classical music at full speed and shit the first time they saw the song.. and I’m like “wait excuse me what the fuck” cause I can’t even read music instantly anymore, I gotta stare at it and do it one hand at a time slowly etc

I felt so behind and inferior as a musician just from stepping away from piano to focus on guitar for awhile. That’s when i decided “fuck this imma do everything by ear” haha
