hey, i won't ever get to watch a blink show (they hate south america, i've come to terms with that) so it's a blow to YOUR/THEIR/WHOEVER'S balls, not mine. haha

  4. Underrated part of the production. I love many, many parts of the drums here. The bass as well. The guitar isn't my favorite, but I like it more than Neighborhoods and DED.

That bass tone in the beginning of "She's Out Of Her Mind" is flawless.

Just getting caught up on the thread and I must say: Guys and gals - let's step back and ask the question - who the fuck do you think blink-182 is? This album/skiba/Tom is being dissected like the gun control debate. This is blink... crappy-punk-rock. It's not a fucking chopin. Blink is the band that arrived when Jim was masturbating to Shannon Elizabeth. It's party music.. it's fun... it's supposed to be catchy, fast, and fun.

This album is fucking fantastic... have a couple drinks.. kick back and enjoy it.

"San Diego" really reminds me someone but I just can't pinpoint it.

    Such a great song.

No. That one and "Sober" are instant blink classics for me.

I'm kind of scared to hear Sober but there was a country-ish kind of song on The Killers' last album which I loved so I'm open to it.

Not even through my first listen and already prefer this to Neighborhoods. Of course that album had a couple gems (Natives, Up All Night, Heart's All Gone) hidden in there.

Sober doesn't sound country-ish at all to me. It's just a slower pop song. No idea where people are getting that.

I can see how it would be comparable to modern pop-country radio songs.

San Diego is definitely one of the best songs blink has made. Really hope it's a single soon.

Tempo wise, maybe, but other than that I just don't hear it at all.

From Here on Out? I hated that song at first but it's so fun.

I hear it most in the chord progression and melody (and especially the chorus lyrics). I've been to one too many 4th of July parties blaring Florida Georgia Line to not be reminded of it. The song is really great though.

Hmm gotcha. I've just seen that assessment pretty often so that's all. I shall judge for myself haha.

Haha, fuck, I need to continue not hearing that comparison if I'm gonna keep enjoying the song. ;-p

I'd place this right alongside "Neighborhoods." Half good, half skippable. "She's Out of Her Mind" is fantastic. "Los Angeles" is borderline butt rock.

I don't remember anything from the back half of Battle Born, it all ran together.

Los Angeles feels like it's straight off the GTA soundtrack.

I guess I should clarify - it reminds me of a very skippable Rise Against or Linkin Park song. It just kind of sludges along.

Haha, it's wild how thin the line between country, rock, and pop can be these days. Blame Taylor Swift!

    YES.
That makes sense, I like those bands and I like hearing Blink's take on a song like that.
