Even if Allen and Taylor are the only ones that pan out as advertised we had a great draft. But I think Oliver could be good and Quincy can at least be a role player for us. We're also getting closer and closer to moving to 3-4 if when we fire Marrone.

 

I’m not worried about the Titans and Colts in general but they did each get a WR that is gonna annoy me.

However, I feel pretty confident in Ramsey and Bouye so actually I’m not that worried. Lol. If we lose to
those teams its gonna be our coaches’ fault for doing jack diddly squat on offense.

I don’t like the 3-4 idea honestly. Taven Bryan, Yannick Ngakoue, Telvin Smith would all lose significance

 

Imagine us still having Justin Blackmon, lmao

 

Bryan and Yannick wouldn't. Telvin may not play again so that's pending.

 

Bryan has already shown he’s more of a 3 tech DT than a two gap end.

Yannick has never played standing up. He is strictly a fit for a finesse 4-3 DE role

Chauncey over Quincy every time. I think we got “set” on getting a linebacker because we were worried about Smith. But that doesn’t mean reach for a small school guy who can’t replace him. I still maintain we should’ve got Mack Wilson and shifted Myles Jack to WILL LB if that was our plan. Otherwise, the talent doesn’t match the value and we should’ve targeted another pressing need.

We needed a safety or a WR just as much, and Chauncey / Butler were valued exactly in that part of the draft as both went a few picks later.

We got set on Quincy specifically and couldn't trade down.

 

Idk my way too early draft predictions yet but I do have Tampa Bay picking #1

 

Yeah that’s dumb when you have two other huge needs, and both of those had a player we didn’t need to trade down for because the value matched. Also, neither of those players had the same competition concerns

Butler and Chauncey got taken RIGHT THERE. Obviously they were better value.

 

I had Bucs 1 originally but you have to realize they'll fuck that up too

 

Nah too many good players have busted this way. Just because they can be taught mentally doesn’t mean they’ll ever be as physically, tangibly special at their new role. A lot of it is muscle memory.

A lot of it is also how you’re built. Yannick doesn’t have great length so lining up right on the lineman helps him use his burst instead. You need length to play 3-4 OLB

 

Yeah I agree we should've taken them over Quincy haha. I'm just saying Quincy was gonna be gone in the 4th and we wanted him so we reached.

I still don't think Caldwell is very good

 

His biggest achievements have definitely been letting 31 teams overthink.
