Finding out what Leo did during that broken glass scene soured me on his performance big time. I don’t think I’ve actually revisited the film since learning about it.

That and Reservoir Dogs are tied for my first I think.

read something with QT a week or two ago that reframed hateful eight as an allegory for american history in the trump era, thought that was particularly interesting.

Has the longer version of Django ever seen the light of day?

I can't shake the personal importance of Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction to my love of film enough to rate them properly. IB is probably his "best" movie.

was thinking about my personal favorite characters he’s done. came up with a top 5 of jackie brown, shosanna, hans landa, jules, and the bride. and i know it doesn’t work this way but if you were to combine Kill Bill into one film that’s my personal favorite

It's been edited from what the article said, but not released yet. I think since the Hateful 8 one was just released, it'll probably be awhile to space them out.

Although he just wrote it - but didn't direct it - True Romance is my second favorite film of all-time. I've always wondered how it would have turned out had he directed it too.

Pulp Fiction is probably in my top 5 and IB is probably in my top 15.

I'm not a huge QT fan overall though. I haven't even seen a few of his movies and outside of Basterds, I think there are moments or characters in each of his other movies that I actively dislike or think is just "okay" or whatever.

Still looking forward to this one.

Four Rooms doesn't get enough love, throwing it back to Tim Roth lol.

That segment is basically peak QT concentrated into 20 minutes or whatever it is.

I really loved the shortened version of Death Proof they showed as a double feature in the theaters. On DVD they added in a ton of stuff I guess to make it a full length movie that stands on it's own, but it kind of bored me.

I am down with this. It should have been the quote on the movie poster.

For me he’s definitely someone where I like most of his work and love some of it, but there isn’t a single film of his that would make my top ten or list of “desert island” favorites or something like that.

That's a great summary and I'd mostly agree with it for me as well.

I wanna go back and watch all of his movies and see where my rankings land. Right now it’d probably be:

    Pulp Fiction
    Inglorious Basterds
    Kill Bill - Vol. 1
    Death Proof
    Kill Bill - Vol. 2
    Jackie Brown
    Reservoir Dogs
    Django Unchained
    The Hateful Eight

But I imagine that would change quite a bit. It’s been a whileeeee since I’ve seen some of these.

Eliot, do I look like a beautiful blonde with big tits and an ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream?

As long as everyone agrees his best acting role was the Elvis impersonator on Golden Girls.

I dunno.... it reads like people are trying to make it out to be more than it is. QT wrote the story he wanted to tell and Robbie seems perfectly fine with it. It feels like others projecting.

And why respond to the female reporter who carefully laid out the context of her question like a pompous asshole?

Haha that's awesome. This show aired before he started making movies right? So was he trying to be an actor at the time? I guess he did star in Dust Til Dawn, so I guess he did pursue that avenue a little bit.
