I don't think it's meant to be a "move it to Vegas" take at all, it's just more about how this change is unnecessary for the players. They could just keep it in Indy and the way it is.

BOB at 17 makes a lot of sense to me if you omit first-time HCs

Garrett at 12 seems too high to me. I don't think he's utter garbage or anything, but I'd say closer to 16-20 or something.

 

No way Sean Payton is the third best coach in the league either.

 

I hate to die on this hill but I still don't get how the media constantly ranks Pederson under McVay.

 

I think Reid has to be #2 despite the playoff stigma

 

Belichick > Reid > Carroll are my top 3.

I think the next 5 are some order of Payton, Tomlin, Harbaugh, Pederson, and McVay off the top of my head. I just don't know what order I'd put them in.

 

Yeah I agree with that. Also think Nagy was a top ten coach last year for sure.

 

I think Anthony Lynn was not a top 10 coach, Nagy can have that spot

 

Anthony Lynn is underrated imo.

 

Might be my Eagles bias, but I always think the same thing. You'd think that beating the god damn Patriots in the SB would have you rank higher than someone who didn't.

 

Hard to say with him because he has a great DC and an elite roster.

 

I always thought Pete Carroll was overrated.

I feel like he's had an elite roster a LOT and always does Chargers things with that Chargers roster

Well, to be fair, the Rams went up like 20ppg under McVay's first year and he didn't really alter the offensive personnel too much. But Pederson's roster is worse so Pederson > McVay

 

Also the reason I'll knock McVay in my rankings

 

I feel like a lot of these arguments you guys make against Lynn because he has an elite roster can also be said about McVay. Yes, the guys an offensive genius. But he also has a pretty damn near-elite roster (that stalled in the SB). And he's ranked number 2? Get that shit outta here.

 

He's above average, just below elite. Top tier talent developer, good motivational coach, below average gameplanner. Had a ridiculous amount of luck with the first few years of drafting and developing, no way he'd win a Super Bowl on coaching alone and lost one because of his own idiotic last minute playcall.

 

I'm torn on this because he usually has great defensive talent but outside of Russell Wilson his offense is probably the worst in the league but he posts top ten offenses.

 

Exactly! I agree, and I think they're both overrated
