I'd say you can understand more what it's like to be an alcoholic than being a front man for an extremely successful band in their respective genre for 20 years. It entails a certain attention and microscope from tons of people that none of us know about.

As someone who survived an abusive household because of drugs/alcohol, I am able to have a lot of empathy believe it or not for people who struggle with these things, but have to admit it is extremely triggering to be around people being abusive or even extremely loud/obnoxious under the influence which if why when something is your profession in particular I feel like maybe you should walk that line a little tighter when your job is being a public facing figure. It doesn't mean you don't get to have moments where things go wrong for you and you make mistakes, we all do and most of us deserve forgiveness, but for some people that might be all it takes to walk away and I have to wonder why we are making more excuses for the person who made the mistake than listening to the person who said "this is enough to turn me off." Tough line but it's different for everybody.
