Yeah, I'm 100% behind legalization but people acting like it has zero drawbacks is only hurting it, imo

I do think private prison money is the only thing that's hurting the case. I believe if it were legalized it would be regulated to the point that those drawbacks would be less apparent due to actual structure being in place for it.

 

I'm more annoyed with how he said it's probably better than opioids, no it's definitely better than opioids.

 

Saying that marijuana is “probably” better than opioids shows a stunning ignorance of this topic

At this rate in PA it needs to be legalized, I work across the street from a dispensary. Fortunately I haven't had any drawbacks from smoking marijuana, I think I get annoyed when people think it's the worst thing in the world. I mean cigarettes give you damn cancer and those are legal.

 

Sometimes I think about how much tax money could be made from legalizing it here and how much it could help literally every single person, ugh. Just do it already.

 

I absolutely think it'll lower crime rate as well since it'll actually be a legal transaction.

 

Oh, absolutely a billion percent. Just imagine all the people in prison for weed sharing time with violent offenders and how fucked up that is and how fucked up they come out of prison.

 

If he wanted to have a conversation about weed and it’s negatives, then whatever I guess. But to bring opioids into the conversation about it is just stupid, if not borderline offensive

Has fewer downsides than alcohol, cigarettes, pain pills, etc

Focusing on the very few downsides of weed is just missing the point, imo. The context is, people already know you can’t *totally eliminate* side effects from drugs that alter your brain chemistry. Of course no one thinks that smoke and tar are good for your health. But weed does have remarkably few side effects compared to literally every other medication and recreational drug

I could be legit not getting it, so what is wrong with televising the combine?

 

It puts even more pressure on the players and they're basically being exploited for ratings. The athletes aren't getting paid for giving the NFL big ratings. Also who the hell is gonna watch it that late? I'm already getting ready to sleep around 10 so I'd miss half of the group anyway. I'm sure some big defensive lineman loves the idea of running a 40 that late at night. It also seems like they'll move different drills around different times, which is even worse haha

 

Like I’m not saying weed works for EVERYBODY

Some people just don’t like to inhale smoke

Some people get really anxious and paranoid

Some people think it smells / tastes bad and have no reason to even want to try it

Some people get sleepy and unproductive

It’s benefits and downsides are going to vary by each person’s brain chemistry. Of course it’s not perfect or the ideal medication for everyone.

But it’s a common denominator that mostly benefits people with a unique lack of risks and mild potential side effects. And from the recreational drug stand point, it’s CLEARLY less damaging to society than cigarettes and alcohol.

 

You would be surprised hahaha I know a LOT of people who are like "it's good for you!" and smoke as much as anyone else drinks water because "studies say..."

I'm not trying to refute anything else you're saying though, just that specific point because if I didn't experience a TON of that, I wouldn't be saying anything about it

Why does this person think this? I thought it was unanimous that moving the combine to Vegas was a dreadfully stupid idea because you’d be doing the medical testing and the drills on opposite sides of the country
