    1) looks awesome
    2) still have NO IDEA what this is really about
    3) still really hope it's not another "let's rewrite history" thing

QT and Scorsese are the only directors that can keep me enthralled and a 2-/12 to 3 hour movie go by quickly

The material with Manson seems like it will be a re-write of history.

hoping the 2.5+ hour runtime means this is more Jackie Brown than Django

A lot of my interest in this is going to be determined by how it deals with Polanski.

No, to "What would Roman Polanski think?" Does that mean the film portrays him negatively (as it should)? Does it just mean the writer wonders what Polanski thinks of his wife's murder being portrayed on film in general? I don't know but I would like to know.

Yea, I'm guessing he wouldn't want to see a depiction of how his wife was brutally murdered.

Unless that isn't what happens in the movie. But even if it is, why would you then wonder what he'd think? Seems pretty obvious what he'd think if that were the case.

Is there ANY chance he went full alternate history and killed him instead? He wouldn’t try something that risky, right?

Also I don’t understand how it’s “cheeky” to suggest that Hollywood was always a cesspool of horrifying behavior that hid behind a veil of puritanical morality for decades. I hope he goes into that in great detail.

I don't think there's anything too risky that Tarantino wouldn't try it. Polanski wasn't in the country when the murder happened so it would be a significant change, but then Hitler wasn't in France to be assassinated in a movie theater either, so.

I'm mostly just concerned (as you are) that the movie will portray Polanski as a sympathetic figure.
