People who are quick to say that Dany had a heel turn:

She did somewhat convey her rational reasoning for last ep. Since s5 she aimed to break the wheel by any means.....

She did just that. In her POV what she did was justified, and she tried to explain that to Jon. So people labeling her a Vilian are too blunt.

She did absolutely murder innocent people though, and she’s not the person she was at the beginning of the show. Though “mad” is a lazy way of portraying her

    - Daenerys' character arc will make my conservative grandfather who watches the series very happy! "So much for the tolerant left!" etc

    - The scene of the dragon - a primordial fire breathing beast of tooth and claw - realizing how evil the throne/an authoritarian monarchy was before any of the smartest human characters on the show was quite something!

    - It almost felt like Tyrion while forming the council at any second was gonna say, "...but at what cost? Has anyone truly won, in this game of thrones?"

    - It got a bit dusty in the house during the Brianne writing about Jamie scene, Arya and Jon saying goodbye and the Jon, Tormund and Ghost reunion scene.

    - I'm really, really happy things ended as well as they did for Tyrion. Maybe a little too well, but I'm good with that.

I don't think she's "mad", but believing she was justified in torching a city full of innocent people isn't not villainous. and her plan to break the wheel was to conquer the entire world

pretty happy with with all of it. don't know why ppl wanted sansa as queen that'd have been lame - democracy scene was great. almost seemed like they're keepin options open for an arya spinoff but idk.

If Jon was to end up back North, I wish he had chosen it of his own free will. Honestly, I'm pretty upset with this season, it's a total slap in the face.

Bran telling Jon about his parentage was all a part of his plan to sew discord between Jon and Dany. This whole time he’s been scheming to take the throne. And he got away with it

Day 1 with the new small council and all Bran wants to know is where are the masters of war and whispers and where’s the dragon. Are we sure my guy is much different?

So... if I was writing this, this isn't exactly the direction I would have went (I still like the idea of having a different representative from each of the Seven Kingdoms), but the more I think about it the more I liked it

    - To me, the last scene between Jon and Dany was absolutely beautiful, I would change nothing about it
    - I literally said "Are you fucking kidding me?" out loud when they revealed that Bran was going to be king but once Tyrion started justifying it it made more sense. He knows everything that's ever happened so he knows what mistakes not to make, he has no emotions so there's no risk of him becoming a power-hungry tyrant, and he can't have children so there isn't a risk of another family having the only claim to the throne again. Bran along with his smart advisors is honestly not a bad choice.
    - So glad that nobody else died in this episode. Tyrion's ending was perfect for me, and Brienne finishing Jaime's entry in the book was a really nice touch
    - The scene between Jon and Tyrion in the cell was excellent
    - Very happy with all of the endings for the Starks. Sansa as queen in the north was pretty obviously going to happen but it's great, and Arya becoming an explorer is really true to her character imo. I can see why Jon going to live with the wildlings might be controversial but it makes a lot of sense to me, he's always been an outsider in the show and he's really among his people now. This is probably a plot hole though but I doubt the Unsullied are going to come back and check if he's really exiled so he could always just go back to Winterfell too
    - I do wish Dany's death wasn't glazed over so much though, there definitely should have been at least a scene or two after her death with a couple characters discussing her tragic arc. Not sure who's left that actually liked her though besides Grey Worm

Overall I'm actually really satisfied with this season for the most part. I do agree with the common complaint that the pacing felt way too fast, it definitely would have benefited from a full 10 episode season, but none of the story beats really bother me at all. I guess I'm super easy to please lol, but that's fine, I'd rather like something than hate it

I started watching this show the day after the episode where Arya kills the Night King, 3 or 4 weeks ago, and i have currently just finished Season 7 episode 6 (I have no life lol). Didn't care about spoilers so have been reading lots of articles and know how it all ends, and this ending is as good as any I could have expected. I honestly thought Sansa would end up Queen, but Bran is a good choice - Sansa has gone through hell on this show, but I'd say Bran has too. People are saying he did nothing in this series to deserve the Throne, but after being robbed of his ability to walk or move without assistance what the hell else could he realistically do besides what he ended up doing!

One benefit of watching everything so quickly is that Danerys' going "full tyrant" ending is reasonably obvious to me. The early seasons you could see she wanted to do good, but as the seasons went on she has got way darker and more and more harsh in response to everything that happens to her, so i was surprised that so many people thought it was a sudden heel turn when it's been built up from season 4 or 5. Emillia Clarke said in an interview recently that she had hoped for more scenes that explain how she reached a point where she would chose to burn an entire city and it's people, so I can see why people would criticise the arc if it lacks a fully fleshed-out ending. Seems like it ties in with those ITT criticisms of the pacing in season 8; everything happened too quickly and important things were unfortunately lost/overlooked.

But all-in-all, not the first of the great TV shows to have a less-than-exceptional ending but a great show nonetheless.
