Los Angeles, Home..., California, Sober, San Diego — I'd argue all contain something unique and new to the Blink-182 repertoire.

Mark reading his jokes from a teleprompter is not very fun. This was interesting/weird/awkward though:

 

Matt was great on this record, now they just need to include him in their live show banter.. i don't want them to copy what they did with Tom but maybe have him say some stuff to the crowd.. does anyone know if he talks during Alkaline trio shows? just felt so awkward that he didn't say one word to the crowd and he is a LEAD singer here and an important member of the band

 

The whole Tom and Travis tweeting thing might be the most overblown thing i've ever seen.

Also, any media outlet that publishes a story based one one tweet exchange should be fined by the FCC.

 

Oof. I can't think of a single interview with Tom in the past ... 10 years? ... that hasn't led me to rolling my eyes at some point.

 

California, the song, was the first time in a while I was taken aback by Blink. It definitely has a new sound to it that was somewhat unexpected. Probably one of my favorites.

 

LOL I dislike what Tom did with blink and what not as much as the next guy, but saying that he's tweeting with Travis for reasons like....this.... Is just being bitter. Oh I won't deny Tom makes some bizarre claims in interviews and on his posts; but isn't it possible Travis and him actually are just civil/cool with eachother and like to tweet at eachother? No? There has to be some reason about him being pathetic? Oh ok.

Seen them ten times and he's never been that huge a talker. I'm sure he'll get more comfortable and bounce off Mark's sense of humor naturally in time. He's still only got what, less than ten shows under his belt with blink? I'm glad he's not trying to force anything banter-wise.

 

From about 2001 - 2009 I used to essentially idolise the guy. Would constantly defend his bizarre statements.. but man, that became impossible to do, haha. Glad the guys happy, but I feel like he'll look back one day and be like "What the fu*k was I on about for that 10/20 year run - nobody came to abduct me *sad face*"

Tom pulls some stunt to get his name out there whenever there's even a hint of Blink news. I think it's fair to assume this is a similar situation. Maybe we'd give him the benefit of the doubt if he didn't do this continually.

 

Idk if this was posted, but the band is being interview by Sway for some Yahoo thing. Should be pretty good.

 

I don't even begrudge him his passions. I do, however, think he's woefully bad at explaining things he's read. I don't doubt he's read a lot of books on subjects and all that, but his way of trying to explain any of the concepts is just so bad. And then I just start getting mad at the interviewer themselves because they won't actually ask any decent follow-up questions after softballs like:

There’s been hundreds and hundreds of thousands of eyewitness accounts. Trace evidence that’s been analyzed by scientists across the world. Events have happened on the ground. It’s all around us. I know of stuff I can’t talk about right now.

How is this not immediately jumped on by the interviewer?! This is either the single biggest story in the history of the world, or ... — like there is no middle option here when you say things like that! How can you not dive into the unreliability of eye witness accounts. Or "I can't talk about" it! Like, you're literally saying you think you can prove ALIENS EXIST ... like how is this just washed over? Haha.

 

He sings that tune to Amy Schumer years ago on his TV show.

 

It seems like he might be doing this to keep his name out there or get under Mark's skin a little bit.

 

Spot on. Tom seems to chime in whenever big blink news hits. Everyone is talking about the album, but Tom finds a way to make it about himself. He's an egomaniac. If you can't see that, then I don't know what to tell you. 20 minutes after his Travis tweet, he's promoting his "life's work."

Tom is still using blink to promote his side projects. Sad, but true. (AVA shirts worn during the blink tour, anyone?) But whatever, man.

 

home is such a lonely place sounds like such a classic blink chord progression and then the melody kicks in haha.

 

Yeah, I can't imagine it being anything other than one of those two options.

 

Tom's the guy that gets dumped and tries to make it seem like it was "mutual" while coming across as creepily obsessed. Bringing up Blink, constantly, is just creepy right now. Shut up, let the band release their album. Do your own shit if it's this important.

I really liked "Los Angelos" and then I realized it's probably because it sounds like "The Matches" 'Papercut Skin' & a Goldfinger song....
