That promo shot of Dany looks like it’s borrowing tremendously from Triumph of the Will. Her speech is definitely going to be rough if they’re leaning into that imagery. I still don’t know if my bet is on her being portrayed as completely evil or completely out of her mind or some combo, since the last episode wasn’t super clear on how much was “madness” and how much was planned cruelty. I don’t expect there to be much (if any) of who she was left either way.

I don't think she'll be on "Burn them all!" levels of madness, but I could see her being more like Cersei: using truths to justify her cruelty and such. Something about how the people of Kings Landing need to fear her or they won't let her rule, but she'll be a better ruler than they've ever had will stamp out injustice and etc blah blah. Same kind of stuff Cersei was saying when she held court in Season 7 with the Lords trying to rally them to the defense of Westeros about protecting the people and such

There are less dialogue driven scenes this season. Be of my favourite scenes of the season was when the knighted Brienne. The Banter between developed rivals/enemies/peers was charming.

Unrelated, but they didn’t develop the Knight King’s history enough for me to even care about him/his motivations and demise. Watching Cersei see the city burn and crumble from the tower and try and remain positive was a really good character moment. She’s the real villain/trigger point for what has happened during the series (it all traces back to her except for the wall/wildlings/white walkers story).

Does anyone know why the main HBO channel isn’t in HD? Seems strange.

So ready for this garbage to be over.

Emilia Clarke's reactions when asked about this season rule though, she is an actual queen.

With a big series like this I always wonder how the actors who didn’t have established careers before will adapt/do working after the show, and what kind of roles they will get.

Say what you want about it, I literally screamed when she appeared and again when she stabbed him. What a fucking moment.

I'd be pissed too if I were Kit lol

I would like the way this played out better if they dealt with Cersei first and then The Night King... If those two could've been flip-flopped.

The Night King/White Walkers storyline just had no emotional investment from a majority of the main characters. It’s been like 4/5’s Iron Throne, 1/5 White Walkers.

Also, every knew the White Walkers wouldn’t win in the TV version of GoT. I guess they want to focus the end on the Iron Throne.

I think the show could actually end with different characters taking responsibility for regions (like different countries) with no overall ruler.

Yeah I think some sort of counsel is the most likely ending at this point. Maybe the nominate someone as "king" or "queen" but it's not an absolute ruler anymore and the king/queen can be removed from power by the counsel or something like that.

  20. The people of westeros don't give two shits about the iron throne. They're out there trying to survive not even aware of the night king and Kings landing war. Hot pie is just making some food for weary travelers. The iron throne is irrelevant.

This last season has not played out how I would have wanted it to at all but I am still very excited for tomorrow's night's episode and can't believe it is actually the series finale.

There’s no denying how much effort was put into the production of the show. The script.....ehhhhh

I think if it worked out the way people wanted it too, Ned Stark would still be alive and nothing crazy and exciting would have happened (except the white walkers business).

As for script, a lot of the good “talkie” characters and strategists/schemers are, well gone or powerless. Season 8 is putting all the talk into action. I do wish they’d squeeze a couple more of those kinds of scenes in, but ohm well.

I thought they would do a council/voting system of sorts at the end, but I also wondered if they would try to do some sort of rotating throne (each family gets their time). Anything to deter people from wanting to start wars for the throne, really.

It’s not so much the outcomes people are disappointed with (at least here) it’s the execution. Dany murdering innocent people, some of them her own, could work but you have to build up to something so drastic. In my opinion they didn’t do that, and her feeling paranoid and isolated doesn’t explain a murderous rampage for her character.

I am looking forward to the finale. Like David said before, I can’t think of many outcomes that I would be totally upset with. I just hope they execute it well for this last one.
