    Slim Cessna and Munly.

Y'know stuff like Wovenhand, 16 Horsepower, The Coffinshakers, etc.

I have not heard of this before but now I’m going to check it out. Thanks for listing those bands, I honestly never heard of that genre until today.

Quintessential Gothic Country is the album Sackcloth N Ashes by 16 Horsepower.

pretty much everything by 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand really. David Eugene Edwards is a brilliant musician.

Damned Things. It's their first tour in years. I have no idea when or if they are going to tour after this run.

Well then the argument could be made that Birds in Row may not come back to the states.

    (But I agree)

Ok cool. I was leaning towards The Damned Things anyway bc of the venue, ticket price and He is Legend. Hopefully Birds will be back soon. I already missed them last year on the Converge tour.

I love Alessandro's new mask but damn Corey. What possessed you to go with that new one? Also kind of bummed Sid has ditched the gas mask aesthetic, always loved his style.

Would it kill half the band to change up their masks? Jim, Mick, and Craig have had the same style of masks since Iowa/Subliminal Verses and Clown just cycles through the same three/four different styles.

I don’t think what mask they choose to wear changes the quality of their music. I’ll take good music first and then if they have a cool mask to go with it, it’s a bonus.

I think mask design choices are usually a pretty personal and introspective thing for them so it makes sense why some of them don't wish to change it up much.

Like Clown is Clown and it would be weird if he decided to wear a pig mask. It’s part of who they are, I agree.

Basically. Incidentally, not gonna lie, I would love the opportunity to get to design a Slipknot-style mask for myself. It'd be a really fun creative exercise it sounds like.

I agree with that sentiment, except I don't like Slipknot's music....

But in my case when it comes to black metal bands and corpsepaint, most of them look ridiculous but I love the music so I look past it.

I get the personal element of their masks and yes, it is their choice to reuse the style if they want. I speak for myself when I say that I wish they’d change it up a little, they’re incredibly talented and creative people and it just bums me out a little when I see a few of them just reuse styles when they could come up with some cool stuff. That’s all. Still a maggot for life.

I always kinda liked that some of them were switching up the mask styles and some of them just upgrade theirs. I wouldn't want Mick or Jim to drastically change theirs, cause those mask styles are iconic at this point and look great. Specifically Jim's now that he cut the chin out and has a huge beard.

However, Corey's looks to be the worst that he's ever chosen. Seems effortless compared to the others. Anyone figure out who the new percussionist is?

    I’ve heard people say it’s Clown’s son

What’s truly tragic about Corey’s mask is that Tom Savni made it. One of the all time great VFX artists, a legend of his craft, and that’s what came out of that.

I like how it’s sort of Michael Myers-esque
