Shocking referee. Spanish players getting testy now screaming at him as usual.

Ramos also went for a sly little stamp when Parolo "fouled" him

Poor Aduriz. Think it should have been a penalty when he was hit.

    Why isn't Thiago playing?

What a fuckin save. First chance in so long comes from some bad defending.

It would have to be Italy to defeat the best team ever. We better go on and win this damn thing now.

This isn't the best team ever.

    lmao Pedro.

Then what is? I can't think of any team that comes close to 2008-12 Spain.

Pedro is fucking shit. Directionless indecisive running, aimless crosses, and no end product. He should not even be in France, let alone the first team.

Shame to see Spain go but they were pretty hopeless. Italy through despite being rather boring. At least they're my work sweepstake team.

This sort of response always feels a bit hipster to me. Did you actually watch a lot of their games?

For me, that Spain side were the best that I've ever seen, but being only 23, I could never comment on the "best ever", as I'd be going purely off of highlight reels and secondhand stories.

Assuming that Del Bosque is canned, that's 2 years too late.

Eh, the 1958 team had like 3 players in common with the 1970 one, but I still think the Spanish team is far more impressive beating Germany, Neherlands, and Italy than Brazil beating Sweden, Czechoslovakia, and Italy.
