These ticket prices are way more expensive than have been in the past, right? I see people here and on Facebook talking about ticket pricing being a reason they aren’t going. If I hadn’t snagged the $20 lawn ones for two shows, I probably would only go to one show.

Yeah the ticket prices are definitely much more expensive. They're charging $127 before fees for section I sat in to see them during the California tour where I got two tickets for the same price before fees.

Just checked the map for the San Diego show and it’s selling extremely poorly. Most sections have most seats available

Just went to a few randoms... El Paso, Dallas, Atlanta, and Maryland. All aren't doing too hot. Maryland a bit better, but DC/Baltimore is a big market.

For over £100 a ticket, you'd hope the shows don't sell. That's a disgusting price to charge for a show.

That's the show I'm going to and I'm kinda freaked out about how many seats are still available...I ended up with two tickets in the lower 200's and was planning on reselling one if my friend bails. I'm stating to get slightly concerned I won't even get my $200 back for it. Hopefully it fills up as the show gets closer but I am a die hard blink fan and I def. thought twice about purchasing a ticket for this tour at $200 for a seat that cost me $90 in 2016.

Sucks that it's selling poorly, but I will say this. When I saw Lil Wayne at Jones Beach (a 15,000 seat ampitheater) the place didn't even look a quarter sold 3 weeks prior to the show. Day of show we walked in and the place was PACKED. A lot of people wait till the last minute for outdoor summer shows.

Also if they'd just announce the damn album already that might help with promoting the tour!

This is a way smaller scale comparison but, i played a show in January at a 150-cap room. When we got to the venue, only 25 presales were sold. It ended up selling out day-of with last-minute online sales and walk-ups. Moral of the story is, people are slackers and I'm sure the tour will do just fine in the end.

Congrats on the sell-out, cool band guy

Edit: total sarcasm by the way, that’s super cool.

    These too

    “She's a dove, she's a fucking nightmare
Unpredictable, it was my mistake to stay here
On the go and it's way too late to play
I need a girl that I can train”

“And then I saw her standing there
With green eyes and long blond hair
She wasn't wearing underwear at least I prayed that
She might be the one maybe we'd have some fun
Maybe we'd watch the sun rise
But that night I learned some girls try too hard
    Some girls try too hard
Some girls try too hard to impress
With the way that they dress
With those things on their chests
And the things they suggest to me”

"I want to fuck a dog in the ass

    [mark]
he wants to fuck a dog in the ass

    [tom]
    I wanna fuck a dog
    That's right kids.

I tried to fuck your mom in the ass
Tried to fuck your dad in the ass
could only find the dog....and his ass

    [mark and tom]
we wanna fuck a dog in the ass
we wanna fuck a dog in the ass
    we wanna fuck a dog

    [tom]
I tried to fuck a fucking pirate in the ass

    [mark]
Aarrh me and me first mate asurvy cur

    [tom]
Tried to fuck a fucking pirate
    but I've found the dog

    [mark, in Mexican accent]
Ah that was no pirate man that was thine own sister

    [music stops]

    [mark]
    It's a Mexican pirate

    [music continues]

    [mark and tom]
We want to fuck a dog in the ass
We want to fuck a dog in the ass
    wanna fuck a fucking dog

    [mark]
    fuck you"

  15. Not sure what your point is? Do you think I don't know the band's lyrics? I have written thousands of words at this point about how bad this band's lyrics are and why.

  16. I wrote an entire article about how the band's entire persona influenced me, for the worse, just three weeks ago:
I also looked up a few of the news articles and interviews from around the 1999-2001 era of Blink, and they were wild. They’re obscenely offensive in so many ways. Transphobia, ableism, sexism, all to a point where you read it now, and your jaw hits the floor. This was the kind of stuff I was consuming and, as I said, basing my entire idea of who I was as a person, around. It’s pretty appalling. We’ve come a long way as a music scene and as a society, but I can’t help and think back on those younger years and searching for something that made me feel ok in my skin, and finding these three “immature” bratty dudes playing music that I was drawn to as I searched for any way to make it through each day. When you’re a teenager, you hear the term “impressionable teen” and think, “that’s not me! I think for myself!” but as I sit here now at 36, I see exactly what that phrase means.

I think it would be cool if AVA opens for blink on like a smaller tour of small-ish venues.

You give AVA like an hour opening slot right before blink. blink plays the normal set up to the encore with Matt. Bring Tom out for "Carousel" and something like "Reckless Abandon" while Matt takes a breather. Matt comes back out and the 4 of them play Dammit to end the show.

I would like to see Matt stay in the band even if Tom comes back. They could play all the new songs and Tom wouldn't be forced to play songs he didn't write, and Matt could add guitar and backing vocals on the classic Tom songs.

Sorry just daydreaming at work, lol.

Blink has always sold well in Connecticut so I would be surprised if it wasn’t close to a sell out. I’m just surprised at the number of seats available as I usually freak out on the day tickets go on sale that I won’t be able to get a seat and be stuck on the lawn. But again it’s only been a week and have no comparison on ticket sales from their last tours one week in.

True, it's also the 2nd date of the tour I think and only like 6 weeks away.

You know somewhere an AVA fan is cackling because Tom's tour sold out quickly and this one isn't, despite the clear difference in venue size.

Yeah very different venue sizes but AVA hasn't announced any openers while blink has Lil Wayne ticket sales too.
