I was always really bummed this Atlantic band never took off, apparently they aren't even on Spotify. Great song, not as great lyrics these days but there was major potential

 

I know those guys, they all still play in local bands here (Winnipeg). They got to open for the Goo Goo Dolls once but that was about it.

 

their album was top. still throw on Speak Slow and Lavender Bones on a weekly basis

I'm more curious if he does a "Tom Delonge solo tour" and promotes it as him playing AVA, Blink, Boxcar and other original songs

 

Pretty sure he could do that. But, I'm not a lawyer and don't know all the mechanical royalty stuff for live performances.

 

I wish Tom didn't change his voice so drastically because even if he would ever play Blink / Boxcar songs, I don't think I'd ever go see them because I hate his voice

I don't think he has any recordings out there.

 

I don't think HE changed it as much as his voice just changed. That's just how he sounds now, at 43.

 

I dig Tom's current vocal tone and have ever since Neighborhoods, but the way he annunciates words when singing is what kills me.

 

I've seen them live twice... haha. But you should check out their song "Head Above Water." It's a super deep cut off of Private Eyes (their best album) but it's my fucking jaaaaam! Should have been a huge song... Actually, fun fact. It was supposed to be the first single for that album, but then they ended up writing the title track, and they went with that for the single. oh well, haha.

 

In a way, it's like how Gwen Stefani has been playing a few No Doubt songs on her last two solo tours: it didn't go quite well over with the other No Doubt band members, but I guess it's allowed. Same thing for this, maybe? Maybe not, since No Doubt just aren't actively a band for the time being.

I'm kidding I never had an issue with his vocals, just when he would phone it in on live performances.

No album announcement this week. They probably need to squeeze 2-3 Feldy's songs out of 30 - not a very easy thing to do.
