This album is pretty cool. Sort of Drone/Doom/Post Metal. Out on Southern Lord.

 

The Ringworm album is, well, Ringworm so it’s good! I have yet to hear the rest.

 

Anyone check out new Spirit Adrift yet?

 

It wasn't immediate for me but a couple songs in it clicked and it is great. I like their throwback yet still sounding current vibe. Highly recommended.

 

They just dropped it as a surprise EP on Friday so you're not alone there.

The new Full of Hell might be the best thing they've released yet.

New Batushka song. The album comes out on July 12th.

 

could never get into them - the whole chants thing seemed to me a fad

 

I wouldn't consider it a fad as they are (were) one of the few bands to utilize those kind of samples to the best of my knowledge. Litourgiya was a good album, but I've soured on them a bit over the last year. They were underwhelming live when I saw them last August, and this new song is underwhelming to me. We'll see how it works in the context of the new album because Litourgiya came together nicely.

A couple of days ago, Krzysztof Drabikowski (guitarist) has put out his version of Batushka

Looks like Metal Blade signed the wrong dude...

 

Saw Animals as Leaders tonight for the 2nd time - it's unfair how good Tosin, Javier, and Matt are at their instruments. I was in awe the whole set. Just incredible
