The talent in this band floors me

 

tbh i too would give sleep well beast an 8.0, i still don't like "turtleneck"

i think most people are gonna hear how this record goes above and beyond despite being v long

 

In a discography made up of albums consisting of transcendent 4 or 5-song runs, title track through So Far So Fast is the best of them

 

When Matt gets loud on The Pull of You

(this was so good live)

 

y’all not even mentioning Light Years leads me to believe this album is astronomically good because that song is all I hear every day.

 

Vampire Weekend, Big Thief, The National, Charly Bliss and Jamila Woods over 14 days.....ded

 

It's a nice song, to be sure, but it's pleasant, quiet vibe pales in comparison to everything else that's going on here imo.

I listened to the first single they released one time and nothing else. I don’t even remember the song so I’m going to dive into this today as a whole.

 

Roman Holiday is good but it’s got the Empire Line problem where I’m just eager to get to the stuff coming right after

 

So I’m about half way through. I was not too impressed with the first half (note, this is one of my favorite bands, so it’s not like I don’t get them). But it sounds like it picks up around the title track which is where I am at and it’s gorgeous (kinda sounds like Stars though tbh)

Wow. Also shout-out Is This It and Room on Fire.

I do feel like I’m gonna think they could have trimmed this down and really put out something special. But we’ll see.

I also made an extended version of Quiet Light, splicing in the outro from the short film and adding some instruments. Will post that once the record is officially out.

 

Aren’t like half of all your posts just that? Haha.

My only complaint about this record would probably be Underwater. Nothing wrong with the track itself but it just feels like an unnecessary inclusion at that specific point in the record.

 

Lol the hype in here is too real. SWB is my favorite so this sounds like it's gonna be right up my alley

Can’t wait for Friday! Still haven’t heard a lick of this except for the first song released once through, but this thread has me dying.

 

A lot of gorgeous moments on here. Light Years is probably still my favorite. That song just takes me somewhere.
