We really should really get an album announcement anytime now, if the album is really coming ”so soon” (Travis’ words). I for one will be really surprised if they actually manage to get this album out in june, which they’ve talked about before.

 

I'm beginning to think the album won't be out until July.

the fact that Travis is saying "so soon!" yet they're actively still working on the album is very interesting to me... makes me wonder if the album is solidified, but they have big plans for a deluxe version/second album coming later?

my curiosity is threw the roof. it feels so close but yet so far still. i'm so curious about what's going on behind the scenes right now.

 

i remember when the BTD lyric vid leaked, people were speculating the whole album was going to be released the next day because of it saying "Blink 182 California - Available at Blink182.com" in the video, it was crazy exciting... only to just get Built This Pool the next day lol. definitely wouldn't mind the new album having a surprise release after that....

I feel like it could still come out in June. I don't like this new norm where albums get announced 4 months before release. Give me a single and 30 days until album release, and maybe another new song a day or two before the album comes.

 

Talking about when the album will come out reminds me of how much this thread thought they were botching things leading up to the release date for California lol

 

I wonder what Jerry Finn’s production would’ve sounded like these days if he were still around. That and all the artists he would’ve worked with. Wild.

 

My guess? Not how people that wish he was still producing Blink-182 think.

It seems that Fat Mike still can't get through an idea that blink has become a far more popular band.

 

I just finished listening to the new single again for probably the 20th time... I think it's great! Sure, the lyrical theme is a little meh, but the song as a whole is really enjoyable. I assume it will work even better in context with the whole album.

Speaking of that... I hope the album's flow works as well as Untitled. One of my gripes with California was that it was song, 3 second pause, song, 3 second pause, song, 3 second pause... No sort of fluidity and cool transitions. It almost felt like a mix CD or something. I hope this new one tightens it all up and has some obvious effort put into the album's tracklisting and flow.

 

Is this good? I have no idea how to measure the level of success after one week lol. Also, how is this compared to Bored To Death’s first week?

Which album gets announced first? Blink-182 or AvA. Let’s take bets

 

blink's because at least we know they're in the mixing/final stages, their tour starts next month and they're booked for GMA in July. The only thing we know about AVA is they released one song and their tour starts in the fall so we're looking at a late summer/early fall release.

 

Plus, the AVA album is on hold while Tom is making the cover art for the new Blink album.

 

The best part of this is the complete lack of reaction. Like 3 people laughing. Yeesh.

Only funny part was when Fat Mike tried to say blink was better without Tom and with Skiba now and someone else from NOFX was like "Ehhhhh, I'm not so sure about that."

It is interesting he seemed to be implying that Mark & Travis don't talk to Skiba though.
