Time apart and hooking up with someone else can both be really good ways to realize what you're missing.

I definitely thing it was shown poorly, but I think it ultimately fits his character.

He didn’t abandon her, he went to keep her promise and fight against the Night King because (as a better person than he was when the show started) he thought it was the right thing to do.

The Jamie stuff comes down to what's being dramatized. His growth was dramatized. His regression wasn't. He promised to help fight the Night King, then stuck around after, which was strong dramatization of his growth. He heard Cersei was in danger, stared at a fireplace contemplating for a minute, then left. That's weaker dramatization. I thought they might delve more into what it meant to him this week, but they ended up not exploring any new dynamic and just reverting to their OG selves before getting buried by some rocks.

 

I def didn’t want him with Brienne.

Look, you want to infer your own opinion about wanting Jaime to survive and stay with Brieenne on to me and then act as if they actually are mine despite you being the one to say them, I agree that's a decent way to back up a half-assed point, but what happened is still dumb as shit

His death was tragic. She wasn’t a good person and he couldn’t shake his love for her. He ends up dying with her in the end, despite trying his best to leave.

It was sad and tragic.

 

I thought he was just going to bleed out on that shore. Thought it was silly to see him barely be able to pick a sword up and then run all the way up to her. Weak sauce.
