It sure is which was the first thing that struck me when seeing it, the second thing that did was how horrifying the art on the front of the book is.

I wish I liked the movie as much as that art.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I remember the story being pretty good, but the cinematography, score, and overall feel being fantastic.

I just watched the new Pet Sematary and was very into it. They made enough changes that made it feel new and kept it interesting. Lots of cool nods to the first film and the novel that I really enjoyed.

I had a fun time with it. They definitely played with your expectations and subverted them.

maybe I need to revisit the film at some point. I was let down when I saw Pet Sematary in theatres.

I really like what they did with Rachel/Zelda and Church.

The fake out of Jud’s Achilles heel slice under the bed like the novel/original film was nice. I still don’t know if it was genius or dumb to show how they changed the accident in the trailer. It would have been a major gut punch because in the film it also looks like Gage is about to run in the road as well. I also dig the ending too.

Hope I reached you in time. Do NOT watch part 2. It’s horrendously bad. I wish I could unsee it and solely remember the first.

haha! I chose not to watch it after some researching. apparently it's a sequel to the US Theatrical that cut a particular ending that closes off the first movie. HBO seems to have had the "good ending", which left me very satisfied with the contained experience. Thus where I will leave it.

so I liked the decisions made. my issues were with the pacing. I felt like the movie could have and should have been a full 2 hours. let me sit in the dread with the characters for a bit. once that moment happened the movie just fired at like double speed.

You have me now wondering what ending i've been living with all this time. Had no idea there were two.

Edit: It's interesting. Essentially, the U.S. version just cuts off the last scene of the original film and lets it end at the hallucination in the car. Original ending absolutely would not have allowed the sequel to happen haha. The premise is entirely around Sarah returning to the cave.

yeah then HBO definitely has the extension after the car. perfect. very ambiguous, some really interesting theories out there about the subtext of the movie.

The Descent is really great and holds up very well. I recently watched it with the non-US ending and I actually like that one better.

I liked that movie. It has its faults but it has a great concept (especially for its time) and the visual style is stunning. Definitely worth a watch imo.

I really liked season 2, but it ended, and then had another ending basically, and if it just stuck with what I thought was the actual ending, it would have stuck the landing better I think. was very surprised how well it worked as a show.
