@Fucking Dustin is my main attraction there so I have to be open minded to Dallas

Really I’m open minded to any big city though I do wanna see Houston too. Usually cities are solid even if the surrounding area isn’t.

I've been to Georgia a lot through the years. My grandparents and some other relatives have lived there for pretty much my whole life. I spent a few weeks every summer in Atlanta/Canton (grandparents got older and moved out of the city). I'll be in Atlanta for the conference, but not sure I'll have time to do anything though I am near the acquarium and zoo, I believe.

A lot of the companies I speak with are headquarted in Atlanta, which I found interesting. Never really gave it much thought.

Pretty much my thoughts. It’s not great. It’s not bad. Has moments that are really good. I dunno. It’s fine. i will say, the one scene that is really bad imo is where those two strangers are talking on the train to explain the plot to the audience. Like, what? Lol

As someone who lived in the northeast, Atlanta is cheap for a city that size. You don’t want to know what it’s like to get “nickel and dimed” in DC, Philly, Boston etc, all similar size cities.

A $1400 2 bedroom place in Atlanta, given proximity to the city and accessibility to transit, would easily cost $2200 or more in those cities

It costs $30-$40 in tolls just to drive into NYC from outside of it

DC’s metro (subway) is like $7-$8 one way plus the cost of the fare card itself

Hell, in the main touristy parts of Nashville you can’t find public parking that’s less than like $10 an hour and street parking does not exist

i used to live in Jersey, my family moved bc of gentrification and cost of living basically. I'm not saying Atlanta is worse than other places it's just dogshit in isolation. that the lowest price of rent in that city is about close to the ceiling elsewhere in the state (barring student housing) and there aren't jobs that pay you accordingly in a manner that's accessible to the people who need it most is unequivocal bullshit. people will always find a way to make that work and that's cool but the city's considerable homeless population is an omnipresent reminder that not every person does make it work or is in a position to do so. there's a lot to like about the city and I genuinely enjoy being there sometimes but there is plenty to be repulsed about imo

oh yeah that reminds me that the other positive is that weed is really affordable and most people who sell have prices according to their average demo which is cool
