I ordered a pair of the Powerbeats Pro. Pretty excited to get them. I've always been a fan of the Beats sound, only because I lean towards strong bass in my sound preferences, but I can understand where some folks would like a more balanced sound. 9-hour battery will be incredible.

 

hmmm my left airpod is dying incredibly faster than my right. both were fully charged 45 minutes ago and the left is down to 17% already and the right is still around 80%. anyone else have this happen?

 

My right AirPod’s volume really took a dump yesterday. Usually I can blow/ suck out the dirt but that didn’t work. Did a deep clean last night and it seems better but I wonder if my first gen’s days are numbered.

 

yeah, these are first gen too. I can literally watch the battery on the left plummet in the widget. testing them again, left is at 54% and the right is at 90%. I'm taking them in after work to see what's going on.

 

welp, I’m out of warranty and out of luck. cool. can’t really swing the replacement fee right now and I was annoyed that was the only option. warranties are incredibly frustrating when they’re expired.

But he went to Kaohsiung Municipal United Hospital where medics confirmed he had swallowed the AirPod. They said it was currently passing through his digestive system, saying it would need surgery to remove if it did not appear naturally. Doctors gave him a laxative and told him to inspect his waste for any sign of the device.

Fortunately for Mr Hsu the AirPod resurfaced when he relieved himself at a railway station the next day. He was forced into a foul-smelling search but was able to pick out the £65 device and found that it was still intact. After washing the AirPod and letting it dry Mr Hsu was amazed to find that it still worked.

 

How does one "accidentally" swallow an AirPod? They aren't that small.

Thinking about getting the Beats as well. When I do long runs in warmer weather the AirPods tend to slip out. And now that I don’t live in the city, most of my runs are in parks where I see more value in the noise cancelling. I feel like having both will gives me a nice mix and certainly options. Are the other colors available or just black?

 

The only available color at launch is black. Ivory/Green/Navy release sometime this summer.

probably a very dumb apple music question, but i cannot figure this out for the life of me - is there a way to stop albums/playlists/etc. from automatically repeating?

 

Is there a “1” showing on your repeat button? That’s usually what causes whole albums or playlists to repeat. Should be visible if you swipe up a little on the now playing screen. (Apologies If Ive misread the question - if that is right though, the button will be red for repeat individual song and then red with a “1” for album/playlist. White for off.)

 

Let me know what device you’re on and I’ll post a screenshot of what you need. But yeah don’t worry there is.

 

On the now playing screen scroll down (pull up), you’ll find the shuffle/repeat buttons and lyrics there.

Planning to buy a new Macbook Air or Macbook Pro, but keep reading about the butterfly keyboard issues.

Is Mid-2017 hat's the latest "safe" generation? My Macbook Pro is Mid-2012 and has proven extremely durable but it's just not performant these days.

The newest butterfly keyboards are largely fine and obviously under warranty anyway so you shouldn’t be too worried. I know this is anecdotal but I have the most recent iteration and it rules and works flawlessly.

That said apparently they’re launching a new line of 16” MacBook pros soon with a fully redesigned keyboard so maybe hold on to that 2012 boy a little longer.

pros

 

people are just now getting the pros today that preordered right when it went live so it'll be a while before they're readily available it seems. From the reviews that have came out so far, it seems like the pros are the better choice if you can swing it as far as sound quality, build quality, noise canceling, physical buttons, and battery life. the airpods are less expensive, more discrete, you can fit the charging case in your pocket and are a little more portable.
