I remember when Matt wanted Left Alone to be the first single on California.

 

It’s weird they’d release a song as a single when 1/3 of the band says it isn’t his favorite.

I think it would be weird for all of them to come out and say this is their best or favorite right off the bat. To me, that minimizes excitement for the rest of the album.

 

It's not weird. They probably chose that song to be the first single because it was the most radio friendly or something. Maybe even the label those it to be the first single. Who knows. But I don't think singles need to necessarily be all the band members favorite songs.

I'm willing to bet this happens all the time. Singles are chosen because they (band, label, etc) think it will help sell the most albums/concert tickets by being the most radio friendly.

 

If we don't get pre-orders today, i would guess it would be within the next two weeks. Doubt we get the track-list when pre-orders go up though.

 

yeah no harm if the single isn't every members favorite song, i can't imagine they were overly happy with Rock Show or First Date at the time given the circumstances they were written under hah

 

the split reactions to this would have been pretty fantastic lol

I can imagine half the fanbase posting "why are there AVA synths in my blink-182????!!" incessantly

I don't think we see preorders this week tbh. They will probably wait another week or two and do them with another new song.

 

Ohhhh, one more new song with a pre-order would be fantastic. I like that idea. If there's going to be a signed pre-order....I think I might go for that one. IDK why and I'm not really into that stuff, but why not?
