I live in MD but this tour is going through West Palm Beach right when my family is on vacation there so we went for that one instead. Should be super fun

 

That guy has met Tom, and Tom - along with everyone else in AvA - looked creeped the fuck out.

 

So we just need to buy Matt a few AvA shirts and the haters will stop?

 

I almost feel like we need a remake of ‘Single White Female’ but with this dude and Tom.

Does anyone know what the tour packages are and consist of? I just see a "merch package." Is there a meet and greet?

 

seriously. trying to catch up on this thread from the single's release was a literal nightmare, those who were jumping on every negative comment were just as insufferable as the negative posters themselves. ive never seen such defensiveness and projection over such an average pop song

 

I really like this song but I feel like the second half of this chorus needed work. maybe even change it to "endless summer, drifting on and on" and make the "blame it blame it on my youth" the backing vocal instead?

except then it'd be called Endless Summer and the Tombots would lose their goDDAMN MINDS

Making the prediction now: Tom will be back in 3 years or so for the 30th anniversary.

 

Only way I see Tom coming back is if Matt voluntarily leaves the band. I don’t see how it plays out otherwise.

 

Yeah this. I’d be down if they became a 4 piece but that wouldn’t happen, so your scenario is the only way that would happen.



And it’s not going to

 

I do not see them EVER recording another album with Tom. The only thing I see happening is if/when they are inducted into the hall of fame, Tom will be there. And if they perform a song, sure let’s throw him out for All The Small Things.

But in terms of actively touring/writing music ... lol nope. I think all parties understand it is a mutual separation.

 

My guess is there is some kind of contract with Matt and when that runs it's course they may all mutually come to the decision it's time for Tom to come back and Matt to focus on ALK3. Skiba will have made a nice chunk of money in his 6 years or so with blink and Mark will probably be at the age where he doesn't want to tour so much anymore anyway.

 

Before we jump to all these crazy scenario's lets just sit back and wait for Mark and Tom to talk to each other again. Them acknowledging each other's new music is a nice baby step ha.

Blink-182 is a full time commitment and Tom has proven (and said) he does not want to commit to Blink full time. So that's that.

If Tom were to rejoin Blink, it'd be just a matter of time before he pulls the same shit again (again)

 

Honestly, I think it'd be for one off performances or something like when they get inducted into the HOF.

 

bring back Scott. but here's the thing he doesn't drum: he replaces Tom. just Scott yelling all Tom's lyrics while Matt plays guitar

Agreed. One-off things would be fine, and seems generally realistic.

Matt could still play guitar, and Tom can just swing his arms around and sing like he does with AVA, haha.

I think Tom genuinely wants to still be in blink, but he's just a serial procrastinator and just takes on too much work to be able to commit to anything full time. It's sad, but he'll probably never be a full touring member again unless he makes some serious changes in priorities.

I'm sure he'll be involved with some studio blink project in the future though, even if it's just a vocal feature or production credit.
