I know Panic Division was doing the 80s thing before 1975 were a band but tell me this song doesn’t sound like they just blended “girls” and the “sound”. Lyrics phrasing and melodies

I have no difficulty in seeing the similarities to some 1975 songs, but this is a sound he has been working on perfecting since like 2009. (When panic division became a solo effort - don't know if they're back to being a full band now)
And The 1975 has moved on to grander things anyway, so it's not like they've copyrighted this sound and no one else can continue to work in that space.

This song reminds me more of a Lany song than the 1975. Both of these songs sound good; I'm here for it. Looking forward to the release.
