This album is great! Totally surprised me. Shows you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

With metal in my bones and punk in my heart Supporter

Listened to this yesterday on @Nate_Johnson's recommendation and really enjoyed it. The vocals were probably the worst part, but not enough to take me out of it.

    Mmm . . . Florida oranges

Just watched an interesting video on 5 of the most controversial album covers and of course two of them were from metal bands.

    Carcass: Reek of Putrefaction
Mayhem: Dawn of the Black Hearts

    Yeah, they talked about that.

What were the other 3? I know Scorpions are more Hard Rock than metal but I would say their album cover of Virgin Killer is... controversial to say the least.

I think it’s a bootleg - don’t think the band itself used it (didn’t condemn it either tho)

Man, I legit don’t know why I slept on Full of Hell, this band is ridiculously fun. Trumpeting Ecstasy is one of the best produced albums I’ve ever heard in grindcore period, Kurt Ballou is a true production wizard. This album makes me want to go out and fight a stranger. 10/10

try their first record - it’s my fav

more crusty & has that awesome junk electronics / lo fi american noise vibe they eventually left behind

Yep. That's their first full-length. I'd really just start with The Inevitable Fear... (their debut) and work your way forward. You can't really go wrong with any of the non-noise releases they have in their discography.

Yeah I’ve been jamming roots these past three weeks, but I didn’t hear much electronic influence on it like he was suggesting. I was just curious if he meant another album

junk electronics... kinda like Wolf Eyes - not techno, & c.

the intro and the White Mare are good examples of what I mean

but yeah, they got more polished which is cool, I just dig the early sound more

    another new Nucleus song:

also if it feels like it ends abruptly, it's because it apparently flows right into the next song

My annual post on this matter - any of you other nerds going to Maryland Deathfest this year?

Because my wife and I are expecting, I'm only doing three days this year to save some money - doing Soundstage Friday- Saturday and also bought a ticket for Ram's Head on Saturday to see Blood, Revenge, Scour, and Benediction. I'm pissed about some of the conflicts on Saturday (Dead in the Manger/Neckbeard Deathcamp and Benediction/Revenge/Squash Bowels), but it'll still be a fun and drunken weekend.
