I live about 6 minutes from a Chuy's and about 1 minute from an Uncle Julio's, hahaha

Torchy's is the supreme chain IMO

However it can get pricey

But is always worth it

Cant believe @CarpetElf just proclaimed that he loves licorice and pretzels

I keep a shaker full of licorice on my desk.

You probably didnt know i love pretzels because i legit dont share. They go from the store and to my room every single time.

I haven't been to Chuy's yet but I need to. We've had such an onslaught of new places to try

 

Chuy’s has like 8 different salsas / chip dips and they’re all ridiculously good

They have the best basic red pico / salsa I’ve ever had. It’s definitely more spicy than most house salsa though so Tex Mex veterans only

 

Torchys is extremely good, no doubt about that. I remember going once with the worst hangover of my life and we just sat there and ate like 5 meals worth of food. Glorious.

 

I have consistently had bad Tex-Mex experiences at Chuy's

They also make their own blue corn tortillas. Their blue corn enchilada with tomatillo sauce, add steak along with the pulled slow roasted chicken.

Every Tex Mex spot has this dish but I haven’t found one that does it as well as Chuy’s. Even when there’s no meat left I’m still like stunned at how good just the tortilla and sauce taste.

 

Better than Uncle Julio’s? They have the best fajitas imo

Uncle Julios is good too but if we're talking about expensive places Uncle Julio's prices overwhelm Torchy's hahaha

Torchy's is pricey but still not like big restaurant status and the taste per dollar is much more efficent, and IMO better encapsulates the Tex Mex experience

 

Torchys menu makes it well worth the price. Definitely more interestingand inventive than your normal texmex joint

 

I could have Torchy's for every meal and:
1. Would be able to try so many different flavors each time
2. Would never get tired of it
and 3. Wouldn't go broke although it still wouldn't be fiscally responsible

 

Torchy's tacos are so big that 2 is plenty imo and you can usually get it for under $10. Not bad

 

I’ve had Sabor. Call me crazy but I legit prefer Chipotle and Qdoba. Sorry @CarpetElf Charlotte culture way too YT

 

I usually do 3 and chips haha

 

Moe’s is trash though
