I'm not really a big Blink fan, so I couldn't care less if someone criticizes Blink. But if you're gonna say something negative about them, it should at least be logical. This album is not very different from Enema or TOYPAJ, and it's astounding to me that people are acting like it is. Not to mention, you didn't offer any legitimate reasons why you don't like the album ; just a bunch more of the "they're not the same band" substanceless argument we've heard so much already.

My problem with this album is actually exactly that - it is trying so hard to be Enema and TOYP era blink. I've accepted the fact that this band isn't a band to look towards for different and interesting new music. They did that once with the Untitled record, but it won't happen again.

  4. I think there's lots of interesting and different things on this album ...

I don't get it. People praise NFG for making the same shitty album over and over, now Blink actually does it well and people complain about them not progressing?

See this makes me happy. I don't always agree with your opinions, but when I have they've been spots on. So the fact you are saying good things makes me eager for the 1st

Seriously, people are acting like this is a retread. The album's similar to previous work, that doesn't mean there aren't new sounds incorporated. I swear, this damn thread.

I wonder if any of the 30+ songs that they scrapped had any ideas/hints of songs meant for The Cereal Killers.

I can dig Cynical and She's Out Of Her Mind. I wish Rabbit Hole didn't have the word fucking. Not because I'm offended or anything. It sounds forced. I think that song is catchy. Anyways, nothing will ever top Untitled. Listening to this album reaffirms that Untitled was their magnum opus. Also hearing Matt's voice just makes me want to listen to Alkaline Trio all day.

Lots of people really like this album in this thread. Lots of people feel it fell short. With the size of this bands following in 2016, this will happen no matter what record they put out. I don't understand why you're so frustrated with this thread.

My problem isn't people not liking it, it's people saying things that are just not true.

Left Alone needs to be their next official single. It's got the best chorus on the record and it perfectly embodies Blink in 2016.

@Jason Tate which song here were you talking about when you were saying it's a #1 hit single, Los Angeles?

  14. "Left Alone" would struggle to get any adds on the radio.

Do you guys think Skiba will actually sing lead vocals on any of the songs on the upcoming album? The last three songs they released, I got really excited, and then when I heard only Hoppus singing I was pretty disappointed.

Also, random thought: It'd be awesome if Mark Hoppus left blink 182 and Dan Andriano replaced him.

Like opinions that you disagree with?
I'm not trying to be belligerent, I just truly don't feel this thread is that out of hand right now.

  17. "She's Out Of Her Mind" will probably be the second single. If a song's gonna have a chance to cross over to pop-radio, it's that one.

  18. Dang, really think so? I would've thought Sober for a second single and then Home.

  19. I mean:
I've accepted the fact that this band isn't a band to look towards for different and interesting new music.

That's not an opinion, it even uses the word "the fact," but it's also definitely not true. Maybe the "different" or "interesting" is in a different musical realm, but it's definitely there.

  20. If they want to go to pop-radio. If they wanna stay on Alt Radio, it may change. But I don't think "Sober" gets Top 40 play at all.

fine, thats fair. i guess what i should have said is "I personally am not interested in this bands music anymore, but im glad other people are enjoying this release"

I preordered the album long ago but I'm going to stream it on Apple Music every time I listen to it the first week. I really want this band to get number 1.

  23. I guess. I dunno, what's the point? To me that always seems like an elitist way of making it about you, "psha, I've matured and don't like this kind of music any more, enjoy your pop music, kids." That's how I read most of the posts that take that route. I think that's why they get the reaction they do too.

Ha, that's so strange to me! I like a fair number of the Tom led songs, but I've always disliked his voice. I definitely prefer the band without him--even if it sounds less "vintage Blink 182."

Interesting, not sure I see it happening but crazier things happen every day
