A company who writes to target a PG audience is surprised to find adults tuning out...Weird.

The shows need structure, GM’s, more surprises, good feuds, more turns, call ups and build ups done the right way, and most of all... actual storylines that don’t drone on and on pointlessly. I mean, we are really right back to where we were with Roman... Really?

I honestly wish they'd bring back those Cyber Sunday concepts. Not do a whole PPV, but the idea of actually giving fans power to determine what they wanna see in a very tangible way would be cool.

I did too. I read somewhere that Vince is actually adamant that when he does stuff like that, that they be honest which would be interesting if true.

Either way, just the presentation could help. Imagine having a poll:

"Who do you want to see challenge Seth Rollins for the title Monday Night"

And you have Aj Styles, Finn, etc...all out on Twitter/Instagram whipping votes. Wendys just had something similar that went nuts because people wanted the spicy nuggets back.

I wish WWE could give me something similar to Wendy's spicy nuggets, but they haven't and probably won't

"Who do you want to see challenge Roman Reigns for the now vacant Universal championship? Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, or Hulk Hogan"

    Sounds wild actually

I just don’t know why they would be against giving people what they want with more aggressive non PG programming and seeing what happens to the ratings etc.

Clearly the things that they have been pushing aren’t working...

    Why not try it?

I think it will be, but I think they'll eventually have to realise that the sport is kind of a niche product for the main demographics and appeal to that.

They should also bring back Saturday Morning Slam for keeping kids interested. Record them at house shows and try get a spot that's good for kids. I don't know about you, but when I was a kid I'd barely stay attentive for half an hour worth of programming, let alone 3 hours on a Monday evening.

lol this is an embarrassing thing to think

ratings dont mean shit until the rights are up for bid. they're getting their money from now until then whether they put the product into a golden age or send No Way Jose out to dance for three hours straight. when the rights come up, they will pad the card with the whole checkbook, the networks will still drool over 260 hours of weekly, original, sports-adjacent programming a year that lands across multiple key demos and nothing will change. WWE is a fossil of a company thriving off of a similarly ancient TV model.

seriously that thought is like when people hated the Wii U and people thought Nintendo would stop making consoles. WWE is not living paycheck to paycheck.

While this is pretty much true for the USA side of the deal, I dont see it being true for FOX. USA gave WWE a lifeline by paying more for RAW than they had been for RAW+SD combined. That alone could float them for the next 5 years + the Saudi deal.

But the idea of the FOX deal was there'd be a resurgence, with a larger audience, etc. Hell, stock analysts are still saying the same thing. Thats very much a potential house of cards if FOX decides they're putting it on FS1 and ratings dont improve. Its not like UFC thrived on FOX, or like FOX really gave a damn as they dwindled. And WWE has a whole other venture in house shows they have to move around to make this FOX thing work...what happens when FOX says "well, actually you're on FS1 Tuesdays now"
