Whenever I read “blame it on my youth” I think of Lizzo singing “blame it on my juice” so I hope the song kicks ass enough to make me not constantly think about the hottest single of 2019

 

Maybe it's just a Nat King Cole cover and that's pretty rad

 

Re-listened to California today. Still not my cup of tea but i wasn't as offended by the pitch correction and garage band guitars than i was when i last listened many months ago.

 

I just rewatched/listened to the blink/lil Wayne mash up in some decent speakers. Ironically, I think it’s Mark that ruins it with his flat as fuck vocals.

Also, still can’t tell what Lil Wayne is saying.

I didn't save it but have the cliff notes:

Mark has the first verse, Matt has the 2nd verse and all the choruses, there's a gang vocal during the bridge. Song is over 3 minutes long. Theme is remaining young at heart. Sounds like it could have been on California.

Those last two things make me worried, but I'm going to keep an open mind here and say I'll like it. Matt having all the choruses sounds sweet and I like that it's possibly over 3 minutes long.
