Tony Khan was talking about bringing stats and data into the AEW presentation which I LOVE.

I was looking for stats on how protected certain finishers are and couldn't find anything. But if "The only person to ever kick out of the Styles Clash was John Cena" and then Finn Balor does it, it highlights how meaningful it is.

What a combination of my favorite things.

 

I'm normally a big stats and data nerd, but I'm actually a little hesitant of this. Being able to fudge the truth a bit actually helps wrestling. If they get it right, could be cool. But might wind up painting themselves into a corner.

 

I think getting rid of mid card titles in general would be a step in the right direction. Tiered titles are dumb and don't serve much of a purpose, and are often used as a crutch.

Shorter shows is ideal, but also they have 5 hours and something like 70 people on the main roster. This shouldn't be hard to fill most of the shows with some decent stuff. The main flaw that I see on a week to week basis is they write a two hour show and just extend the segments to fill the 3 hours. It makes the eventual ppv blow off matches mean less because the performers do a lot on tv, or even worse, and what's happening now, we're watching 20 minute matches of nothing happening.

I don't know if what I wrote was coherent. I just started typing and didn't stop and that's my 2 minute thoughts

 

so i just saw papa roach play some RAW/Smackdown theme songs live last night at a rock festival here in Jax. guess my weekend was dope

 

Definitely fair. I think there's an opportunity to do it though in a way that keeps your flexibility. Even if it just wins/loss information. There's a reason all of the main sports are moving that direction. Hell! Even incorporating fantasy into the product could be interesting.

This is one of the many things WWE needs along with meaningful titles/divisions.

Never really knowing who's in the running for what belt or why a win matters is something they can do a lot of. I understand sometimes you just need to have Revival vs. Lucha House Party but even then just making it more meaningful that a win for the Revival would be their third in a row and would really set them up to challenge for the belts etc...

Dump either the ic or the us belt. Dump one of the tag titles. Have the midcard and tag champs alternate between shows. Reintroduce the cruiserweight title into the main roster. So you can have cruiserweight/heavyweight tag teams again.

And reintroduce feuds that are not about titles only. Real feuds.

The downside to this is something like the AA, which is a borderline signature at this point since it never finishes the first time. Feels like that's on commentary to know (like Mauro with Adam Cole's last shot call...stunned when Gargano kicked out).

Ill say thats another major change WWE needs to make. The way matches are called, with so little silence and so many plugs makes it hard to focus. Evolution felt a little different because the normal crew wasnt there and it was run NXT style

actually i was thinking the other day what i would do... like if i got to write the entire Raw. They're in a real hole. This isn't an easy fix in my opinion. A lot of wrestlers are buried, the shake up isn't real... it's tough. You need a complete re-haul.
