Personally I would prefer if they brought along the Sugarhill Gang, because those gents aren’t as “rough & rowdy” as these new rapping groups. I mean come on what is even pop-punk anymore guys, have some honor and dignity.

It is a cool venue though. But when I'm driving 30 minutes to get there and into a new state ... it's not really "PORTLAND."

I still love the band. I saw them last weekend... But I know what you're saying. I'm sure I'm part of the problem when it comes to this thread's twilight zone-like cycle of topics that are discussed. Maybe I need to be better at keeping my opinions to myself? I just dislike Lil Wayne and Neck Deep. So that's why I'm bummed about this tour announcement.

Yeah, they always do this with every big amphitheater show in your area. If it isn’t at Edgefield, it’s at SSA and considered your local show despite being in Ridgefield.

My parents live up in St Johns, by the U of Portland, and even from their house it’s a 30 min drive.

 

I was 0% onboard with California but seeing them working with all these different folks, this Lil Wayne Tour, and based of some of their commentary I’m pumped to hear this.

@Jason Tate, have you heard anything? If I didn’t like California am I doomed here?

 

I mean, I'm not saying keep them to yourself, diversity of opinion when discussed can be interesting, but repeating "Lil Wayne sucks" or "California sucks" and then saying "wake me with new music" makes me think I'll I'm going to be reading is "this song sucks" instead.

I get not liking Neck Deep or Lil Wayne. You couldn't give me tickets to see Neck Deep by themselves and I couldn't even tell you the name of their most popular song. I think the band's full of chodes. So, you're either going to see Blink play, or not, and either decision doesn't impact me at all, but a billion posts about the rumors and then a billion posts after it's announced to the same complaining ... kinda does? I dunno. I'm speaking generally and quoting you at the moment, but it seems like a lot of people don't like Blink-182 but like to talk about how much they don't like Blink-182 anymore. Maybe there should be an ex-Blink-Fan-Club or something. (Or is that just AvA fans?)

I just wanna bang my head against the wall reading everything in circles.

 

This being said, I'd totally make the drive to see blink play Edgefield.

 

I don't think anyone should expect a massive departure from their most popular album in a decade. But I do think they're going to explore new textures and sounds within that style. And that could be toward a poppier direction OR a darker and more full sounding direction ... but I don't think all of a sudden there's going to be huge electric guitar riffs in there. I think it's going to build off what California was, and probably with new soundscapes that bend away from "punk" to more modern sounds. That's my guess.

Awesome. I think I’m ready for them to move away from the guitars. I know it isn’t the same thing, but FOB’s SRNR is the “direction” (I use the word carefully) that I’m hoping new blink goes

Any Blink show is a great show. No problem with the lineup. At the end of the day, it probably makes Travis really happy. Which is important for the future of the band.~
