How Euron have zero reaction to Tyrion mentioning Cersei's pregnancy?

Jaime straight up ditched Cersei. I always took that to be the final straw between them.

The only way I can rationalize him going back to her was that they intended to convey “Jaime wants to fight in the north because he swore to do so and he knows that if they lose there then all hope is lost, but if they defeat that threat then the game is still on and he’s still loyal to Cersei.”

Which is of course absurd. So him going back to kill her is the only thing that makes narrative sense, but that scene definitely failed to properly convey that imo

I want to believe they'll go back to that but I also believe his character is just dumb as fuck.

 

Yeah I’m still 50/50 on it. On one hand it just drives the fact Jamie is changed for the better because of her, and loves her for it. On the other hand there’s been 0 sexual/romantic relationship between them before so it was very out of place.

 

I think the love and attraction itself was earned, but the way they made it happen was super bizarre. Like Tyrion bringing something up that upset her so much she left the party and then Jaime decides THAT’S how he’s going to go for it? Complete with, “Oh wow, is it hot in here?” I get that he is not smooth with any woman who isn’t his sister, but that sequence of events is not at aaaallll how I expected their plot to move forward.

It was kind of like when Sam and Gilly got together and it made sense for the characters but they had it happen RIGHT after those creeps threatened her which left it with a super weird vibe.

 

I didn’t in any way interpret Jaime’s monologue as him saying he wants to go back and be with Cersei at the end.

 

I actually think he was getting hot because he was both drunk and extremely nervous. Like he was having a near anxiety attack trying to figure out how to get this girl to kiss him lol

 

the lead up to it was clumsy as hell but giving Brienne a love plot is the only good thing these writers have ever done tbh

 

Also I can’t believe it took until Varys for someone to mention the aunt/nephew issue.

I think it made sense to not show Sansa and Arya’s reactions because (1) we already have a pretty good of what their reaction would look like (Sansa’s scene with Tyrion basically is her reaction anyway), and more importantly (2) this season has already had two scenes where a character reveals it while another reacts. Doing it over and over again and with characters who are increasingly less directly impacted by the news would just be bad writing

 

That scene way back when in the tent where they talk about Jaime’s sword was somehow way more romantic and sexy than their actual hookup. I’m surprised that so many people never saw them having romantic interest before tonight.

 

Yeah they came dangerously close to Jaime straight up telling her he loved her back in Episode 2 when she asked him what he was doing up North.

 

Part of me thinks Jaimie going back is just so he can kill Cersei or something maybe. Like he thinks hes the only one who can end it after hearing the news. I dunno.

Thought the episode was fucking great. Best of the season so far.

I honestly thought the dragon death was them just throwing shit at the wall and landing on a Dany dream sequence lol
