I can see him initially going back to be with her, then he finds out she’s sleeping/saying the baby is eurons and Jaime loses it

 

This show has been on for EIGHT SEASONS.....the dialogue/writing isn’t going to stay the same.

Is this really your point? I agree with you if it makes you feel better, but I’m still loving it.

 

Then why the monologue about all the horrible things he's done just to be with her and that is just who he is to Brienne? Just to fake out the audience like the Arya Sansa drama last season?

Also, the Hound/Sansa reunion was everything to me.

 

I think we aren’t seeing them until shit goes down. Probably gonna try to make us forget, again, she’s lurking around. Very excited to see her attempt to kill Cersei and VERY excited for the Hound to attempt to kill his brother.

 

I will agree the Bronn scene was bad

 

No need to be condescending, I have stated multiple times it's ok to like it. I'm just stating that it has changed and that's the reason people may have problems with it. Different opinions.

 

I said it earlier, but that scene with Jaime leaving is a classic example of writing something solely to leave the audience in the dark. They could have had him tell her why he was going and still have her be against it because their relationship has changed, but they obviously want his state of mind to be a secret above anything else. If they actually intended it to be him giving up on redemption and life without her, that would be his complete undoing as a character. And I hope they wouldn’t blow it THAT hard.

 

I just strongly disagree that all of that stuff wasn’t incredibly pervasive throughout the show the whole time. I rewatched the entire show recently as well, and I definitely feel like I missed this nuance and tact that you’re talking about

 

this was the absolute worst

 

To show us how absolutely conflicted and messed up he is. He’s going back at this moment to save/fight alongside her ... but he’s going to get there and realize what is right and it’s not her.

 

Honestly I really didn’t think the Jamie scene was meant to be ambiguous. It was pretty obvious to me he wants to take her down, and Brienne fears for his life. Thus pleading for him to stay. Just how I saw it.

 

pretty sure Balerion the Dread as at least 2x the size of Drogon when he melted Harrenhal.

Jamie 100% is going down there to kill Cersei, believes he’ll die in the process, and doesn’t want Brienne to mourn him because he doesn’t think he’s a good person deserving of someone’s love.

Well I mean the fact that you saw it one way and half this thread took it to mean the opposite has to mean something as far as its clarity goes. I agree that that’s what he was saying, but it was a very roundabout way that left them in an odd place.

 

I gotta say, I really don’t like Brienne and Jaime hooking up like that. Their entire relationship felt like mutual admiration and respect among peers and not based on love or physical attraction. And it happened while they were both super drunk. Idk, felt sloppy and totally unearned.
