I was hoping he would do the Farley song but didn't think he actually would... this is going to be emotional on this show

 

Wait was this part of the Netflix special he did last year

 

Yeah it was.

Fuck, he was getting emotional and it was making me emotional. Really glad he did that

 

Really solid one tonight overall

 

Damn, so many of the cast was in tears during goodbyes...


This episode kind of had some misses but it still ended up being one my favorites of the season. Really would love for Sandler to host more often

 

I'm (kinda) surprised at how much I liked this episode. I'll always have a soft spot for vintage Sandler, much as I hate his new movies. Was expecting him to do the Chris Farley song and I'm glad he did, him getting visibly emotional during that performance got to me a little, too. Really good episode overall.

 

Cold open did nothing for me. I don’t watch GoT, but love MCU — just wasn’t funny whatsoever. Felt like it was written for the costumes.

Monologue was pretty good though.

 

I liked the episode. Some good sketches and some not so great ones. I thought the nostalgia factor/ old characters were done about the right amount. Same with the cameos. It was a nice reminder of why I like Sandler, as I haven’t been a fan of anything he has done pretty much since the 90s/ early 2000s with the exception of Funny People. Would love to see him host again!

 

Worth it for opera man

 

Decent episode. I was pumped for Opera Man, I've always loved that character.

But man did I cry a lot during that Farley tribute... Wow

 

I normally enjoy Bennett and Mooney’s comedy style, but that “Clothes are Holes” music video was so dumb and not remotely funny.

 

Man I love Melissa so much, she is a national treasure

 

That Bennett/Mooney song was like a Flight of the Conchords reject song.

 

Holes song was bad, but it looked good

 

I thought Beck’s impression was the wedding singer

 

Not one of Chad’s best

 

I read that Kattan injury story a few pages back, and I feel for the guy.... but unless I’m missing something I’m not 100% sure that NBC/ Snl did anything wrong there. The details seem shaky on both sides though so it’s possible there is more to the story
