Oh I looked up the album with the bonus track on Amazon's Japanese site, the English translation of the album description is too great:

I love San Diego and think that while Matt's voice is better suited for the chorus it would have meant more if Mark sang it considering he's, y'know, from there.

  6. I like it - it's a good summer pop-punk record and that's all

  8. California definitely combines my favorite parts of blink and alkaline trio into a really fun catchy album - Los Angeles is an early favorite. Still love Bored To Death too - so damn catchy

Untitled is one the most overrated albums out there but it's high moments are absolute career highlights - the vocals only chorus on "Feeling This", the bridges on "Violence" and "Stockholm Syndrome", "I Miss You" as a whole.. there's nothing on California that comes near some of those moments. I still think Enema is pretty solidly my favourite blink-182 album, still an absolute pleasure to hear start to finish.

at this point BTD is my least favorite here. "Left Alone" on the other hand... god that chorus

Don't really know why this discussion isn't happening in the album thread, but whatever I guess. Minor annoyance.

Starting first listen now. Cynical is ok. Bored to Death is still quite solid.

  17. lol, reading there was "controversy" at Warped Tour cause The Maine asked people to put their phones away for a song, and that dork in State Champs went on a Twitter rant about it. Warped Tour really is the worst.

  20. I find myself coming back to "Teenage Satellites" more than I expected. It feels like it could fit on the back half of TOYPAJ pretty easily. And, I really love the drums on that one.

Sober is my favorite song so far. Built This Pool sticks out really obviously and it's lame.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

I wish the two joke songs weren't on the record. Built This Pool messes with the flow, and California would have been a great closing track.

i hope there will be zero joke songs on the next one. a Matt joke would be cool though

The little claps during "Teenage Satellites" make me really happy.

Yeah, I do get the same feeling from this as the last couple NFG albums. This one's better than those, but it's got a similar sense of band trying to recreate their past sound and it sounding (to me) pretty dated. Wouldn't be surprised if it caught lots of younger listeners though.
