I think Brock comes back, Dana is the one who said he is retired and that's because Brock was asking for too much money, that's the only reason. Brock is a leverage guy, I think he fights one more time, but he is going to sit and wait for the money.

It is interesting though, the business has taken a HUGE turn with not having to rely on PPV buys anymore. They aren't gonna make deals with people like Brock by offering him percentages of PPV buys, it's just about straight up how much are they gonna pay him. There are pros and cons to it.

When the fights come on and DC is commentating, it’s an absolute treat. I also really dig Cruz and Dan Hardy’s analysis too

Give Cowboy Conor or give him Tony. He deserves a #1 contender fight after that.

  9. This happened yesterday. Not directly MMA related but Askren was involved.

No shocker here, Burroughs ran through him

Thoughts on Rose v Andrade? Aldo v Volkanovski?

I think I’m up in the air on the headliner. I don’t think Jessica crushes Rose like she did Karolina, but she’s a good match up.

I’m rooting for Aldo and think he can do it in the first two rounds, which I’m guessing is his intention.

Feel like I've been off the MMA grid for a bit, but I'm guessing if Andrade doesn't land something big in the first round she'll get picked apart for the rest of the fight. It could go either way really.

As for the other fight, I haven't really seen Volkanovski fight enough to get a feel for how he matches up with Aldo but I just hope it's a good fight. Rooting for Aldo like always.

    Yeah, I agree with this.

Definitely rooting for Alex over Aldo in hopes for a Max v Alex co-main under Rob v Izzy.

That could be cool. For the long-term health of the division, it would be beneficial to NOT have Aldo keep knocking off contenders but I can't help rooting for him lol

Bellator's main card > UFC's this weekend and it's not even that close for me. Only UFC fight I care about is Aldo v Alex, guess we'll see how good Alex is, could see it going either way.

I love that he didn't quit after all the shit talk he got from losing to Conor. A real champ and still a top contender.

The only real pull for me is the headliner, and I say Chandler gets an easy win.

See Chandler winning pretty easy too. McKee and Curran is interesting for me, I'm pretty high on Claxton too. I expect Page to get exposed pretty badly. Hager's development is something to watch, but nothing that greatly excites me.

UFC making this a PPV is almost insulting at this point, but whatever. Hopefully they get these old heads out of here so they can retire (Aldo excluded).

He’s lost steam in the U.S. but there are still SO many people who will continue to pay to see Silva fight. It’s insane.

After watching the lackluster fight against Semtex I’m a bit deflated on Page.

I'm looking forward more to Bellator this weekend. Love Mike Chandler. Definitely my favorite fighter outside of the UFC. Really wish the UFC would sign him. Not sure how many fights he has left on his contract with Bellator now but I know it's a fairly new contract. I'd be interested to see where he'd rank in the UFC lightweight division.

UFC 236 did under 100k buys. Number was expected to be low with the transition to ESPN+, but damn

Listening to the MMA Beat right now and they're talking about how weird it is that nobody talks about Douglas Lima in general, but it's even weirder that there's hardly any hype behind Lima vs. MVP. I feel like Lima should smoke him.

MVP reminds me of Rousey. Very good at one aspect and fed a ton of favorable matchups. Then when given legitimate challengers (like Miesha and Paul Daley), the challengers fight with terrible gameplans because they're mentally shook. I feel like if Lima goes in there and steamrolls him, that mystique is gone and you'll see him lose more often.
