Bran is going to mess something up in the past and cause the Night King to return and kill everyone

I think I've said this before, but I can totally see Jon killing Dany before she can burn Kings Landing to the ground with the dragons and wildfire combo. The Mad Queen

Having Daenerys go mad would be a real betrayal of her character up to now.

  4. Emilia Clarke is doing some giant fan dinner for the final episode and that would be quite a way to enjoy a meal.

“Here’s all this food with me but also I’m about to die by turning into everything I was against”

I do think she dies but I don’t think she goes mad queen.

If she was going to turn on Jon I feel like it would have been during the battle.

I feel like Dany has kind of lost sight of herself though. When she started, everyone who followed her followed her because it was their choice too, and she made that very clear. She used to earn her power, and that's what is significant about her killing the Tarlys. Now she forces people to submit to her. She's been inching closer to her Father, but I don't think they have her go full Mad Queen, I think she comes really close and then is pulled out of it, maybe by Jon Snow, maybe by Tyrion, maybe by some vision of Jorah. Someone will snap her out of it, but she will come very very close to making the same mistakes as the Mad King.

She’s gotten more self assured and is less willing to listen to those around her. While she might not go full mad queen I feel she’ll be stopped before doing something drastic, and in the shock of Jon doing it Cersai will get got by Arya thus completing her list.

Never liked her anyway so I’m ok with it. Sansa for the throne as Jon clearly doesn’t want it/wont want it after he kills Dany

    Also we best get CLEGANEBOWL

The only one I can think of where we still don’t know if they’re good or bad is Bronn. Am I missing anyone left in the gray area?

  10. This. She's a lot more like Cersei than anyone else wants to admit - she'll do what she has to do for power because they both understandably equate power with survival. They just had very, very different circumstances. I personally think that's what is going to make this interesting. She's not ~inherently~ good, or guiltless, or any better ethically than anyone else in Westeros. She's just the same kind of ruthless on the other side of the coin, and they're both fighting for the same thing.

This dynamic is what is keeping me interested in the show despite the fact that my favorite aspect of it got iced by Arya last week. I know the show is presented in a way as to identify more with Dany than Cersei, but I think a lot of people are discounting how ruthless she has become recently.

Plus I want to see if the show addresses Jon Snow's claim vs. Dany's. I feel like they, and the show, have kinda side-stepped that so far.

I think a lot of these characters are still “grey”, but we’ve just been looking at things from their POV for so long. Think the Walking Dead and Rick/Negan....what Rick and his group were doing to the saviors was pretty fucked up, but they are our POV so we side with them and Negan was the evil dude.

I think in this case it’s easier to see that Cersei is definitely the MORE evil character, but Dany’s hands aren’t clean and she’s struggled with it constantly. Tyrion too, for that matter. Jon is def the least grey, he’s got a lot of that honorable Ned Stark in him.
Davos is pretty much all good too.

  13. She'd sell her nephew to Satan for one corn chip and I'm cackling if he doesn't know that

Yea exactly, and we all just assume Dany is the good one because she's the side of the story we have been led to agree with, and because she started off good. But it's worth noting that Cersei didn't really start off as pure evil either and was driven to that by some truly awful events in her life. I will say I don't think Dany is quite on the level of Cersei because we haven't seen her display a willingness to kill her own people yet the way Cersei has, but I think she's essentially on the same path as Cersei and as her father. I do enjoy how the show kind of hid this from us in plain sight, until they started pointing it out this season.

I feel like he doesn't know this, like he'd have such a shocked, sad look on his face as she roasted him alive from the back of her dragon if it came down to it.

  16. Yup. Dany is also younger and hasn't experienced nearly as much loss. If nothing else the show is a fascinating litmus test for how the same kind of person is perceived so differently based on the circumstances of their life they didn't choose.

I would very much be okay with Cersei, dany, and Jon all dying leaving Tyrion and Sansa to rule the north and south.

All of this talk has gotten me excited to watch next week's episode. I can't lie, I was feeling a little ambivalent after the NK / WW got wiped out because I thought they were a really intriguing concept.

  19. This next episode almost seems to calm so I’m fully expecting someone to just drop over dead.

  20. Actually, agreed. Jon doesn't wanna be king anyway and Dany or Cersei remaining on the throne (much as I actually feel like I kind of *get* Cersei) is a truly terrifying prospect.

My not popular take: I think it’s more likely the latter two day than the former 3. Nothing but gut feeling lol (and trying to read the tea leaves from GRRMs original outline of his story he gave to his publisher)

I definitely understand Cersei in a lot of ways, but how many children she’s given express order to murder is a horrifying look at what type of monarchy she would (and has) run.

I think Dany has slowly been turning into the same type of ruler, since the pyramid city (Meereen?) kinda introduced her to true politicking. But she’s not as far down the road (huge difference between a surrendered lord and orphans)...but I think she doesn’t realize she’s further along than she realizes by the Tarlys.

Hasn’t he confirmed that Tyrion and Arya won’t die for years? So that would at least kinda stop half of your theory.

My not popular take: a fantastic way for GRRM to confirm where his story is headed would be to write it out in novel form and then have it published for people to buy and then read.

you could say that would be a... novel approach
