I honestly wish I could go back in time and tell younger me there’s nothing wrong with hip hop and that I’m being close minded, probably would’ve had more fun in my youth.

Best surprise opener for me was Wiz Khalifa opening for The Killers at some random beer promo show in Pittsburgh a couple years back. Black & Yellow in Pittsburgh with a live band was insane.

Matt and Kim having the first opening slot of the day was another story....

I was definitely arguing with people about whether it’s okay to not like any hip hop as late as 2010. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’s critical acclaim really bothered some people

I’ll admit I used to listen to a lot of hip hop in 2000-2004. Nowadays I don’t listen to much. I should probably change that

Someone in the comments on the Lil Wayne post on reddit has confirmed July 2 in Buffalo, NY for the tour.

I'm fine with poppier hip-hop, but I feel the same way about rapping as I do with screaming--

It's great to build up energy or add spice to a track, but basing a whole song around it doesn't usually yield accessible results.

Did people complain this much when it was revealed Yelawolf was on their EP

    I certainly love college

  14. It’s one of the most popular and “accessible” genres to millions the world; I’m in crazy town today.

Now I Know This World Isn’t Spinning Just For Me Prestigious

Were you around in the mid 2000s when it was literally the biggest genre of music? And it’s still pretty popular today (though I feel pop has dethroned it )

Tbh I’ve never seen FOB with a good hip hop opener and I’m a fan of hip hop

My first blink-182 show in 2003 had Bubba Sparxxx as direct support.

I was like 6, so not really

Also, I was specifically referring to traditional rapping vocal style (Back before they started ad-libbing random sound effects after every line), not the genre as a whole.

  21. Looks at Hot 100.

    Looks up word “accessible”

Goes back to shaking my head in disbelief at this thread today.

Last time I saw FOB, Jaden Smith and Blackbear opened. That was brutal to sit through.

Well there you go. History lesson. Rap was the biggest genre of music in my high school days
