How would touring with Badflower and Yungblud HELP blink? EVERYONE who knows those bands knows blink.

This is nuts to me. They're not struggling for name recognition. They're one of the biggest rock bands ever – and one of the most influential bands of the last 20 years.

 

Your entire premise ("I just don't wanna see them become a cover band of themselves, I want them to be proud of their new music") is derailed by the massive success of their last album and tour on the heels of their largest single in a decade.

 

Blink should tour with JEW again

 

Bruh, you are talking about of the biggest and most well known bands in the last twenty years and are beloved across the globe, they don’t need any help from those bands. On top of that, people go see them primarily to watch them play the hits, a new album is just an excuse for them to go out and tour.

 

Like I’m truly at a loss here trying to figure why someone thinks a band like Blink would be unknown to anyone who listens to pop punk.

 

The point of a band at Blink-182's size isn't to gain new fans via a tour lineup. (That's the goal of whatever band signed to some label like Pure Noise Records last week.)

It's to sell a fuck-ton of tickets. Cross genre and diverse tours do that.

 

I’m honestly willing to bet that people who listen to Lil Wayne most likely also listens to a band like Blink, they’re both huge artists who have been active for decades and both are played on mainstream radio.

 

Just tour with Frank Turner again. That was a fucking sick show, awesome sets from both bands.

 

I feel like everyone knows A Milli and Lollipop

 

If it’s band I love it really doesn’t matter who’s opening because I’m still going (unless it’s a band full of abusers)

If I like them it’s a positive but I’ll be there either way

 

I've never seen blink but if I ever do see them live I'll be sure to wear extra pearls just for clutching

 

I know someone who is absolutely ecstatic after i told them this rumor sooo there might be something there based off my anecdotal evidence lol

 

This is how I look at it. I go for the main act. If the openers are bands I like too awesome! If not, eh I’ll deal with them until my band gets on

 

Also, would it honestly kill you to hang out with people who want to see Lil Wayne? Break out of your shell a little.

People out here getting frustrated for no reason other than to try to make this guy seem like he doesn’t want to take his kid to see lil Wayne just cause he’s black. So weird.

blink has way more kid-Friendly songs and subject matter than Lil Wayne. Less drug references, less referring to women as bitches, etc etc.

JEW, GD, and B182 was such a fun show. But that’s when I realized that Blink sucks live. Green Day should have been headlining all of those shows.

I’d love to see Blink tour with The Story So Far and then maybe a left field kinda group. Run The Jewels or something similar.

Not a Lil Wayne fan at all but I don't mind if they tour with him. It would be a hell of a success. I just get my 35-ish dollar lawn tickets and always feel I got my worth just from blink, so if I enjoy anything else it's gravy, if not I'm just chillin lol

 

Okay, I'm just gonna organize all my thoughts here

-Playing the hits without even the original lineup, then only playing 6 new songs, two of which are jokes songs shows a lack of passion or artistic integrity that frustrates me. It feels disrespectful, like they're trying to fool the audience who doesn't know about the lineup change.

-Modern pop-punk fans know who blink is; that doesn't mean they're fans. I want them to get more fans who appreciate their new music, seeing them play to a sea of 40-year-old white dudes who could care less about their new music frustrates me. That's why they need to appeal to the new fans.

-If BTD was released as blink's first single ever it wouldn't get them into arenas. Their legacy is what gets them into arenas. As I've already established by my first point, that annoys me.

-I don't want them to become a bigger band, but I want them to diversify their fanbase.

-The only thing that could drag me, a 17-year-old alternative kid, to see blink-182 in 2019 would be either a good support lineup, or a good new album that they play a lot of songs from.

-Yes, I'm biased, cause Tom was the best part of blink in my opinion, and while I'm still really looking forward to new music from them, I don't wanna see Skiba try to be Tom for an hour.

-Lil Wayne/Blink-182 would get a lot of casual fans of both acts, but unless blink is taking their music in a new direction that would make that pairing make sense, it feels like a blatant, disrespectful cash-grab just for the hell of it that doesn't restore my faith in their integrity as artists.

-I legitimately don't get what's wrong with Dysentery Gary. It has a few cheeky jokes, but nothing that'd kill a kid to hear (other than "Your mom's a whore" which I definitely had already heard from jackasses in elementary school so like, what gives?)
