Just read the final issue of the Legacy of Luther Strode. While I kind of wish the last fight was more epic, it still provided a satisfying end. It's a shame this is it for the series.

Forgot about this book! Love everything about it Jordan and Tradd are so underrated. Have they said why it's ending?

Yeah at the end of this issue Jordan addresses the reasoning for the end. Long story short, while he does so reluctantly, he just felt it was the right time to end it.

Reading Infinite Crisis now. I have no idea what is going on. I hate when these books just throw 100 characters in and hope you have the slightest idea what is going on.

I'm still a bit confused on how/why Marvel is sending me press releases, but I put up my first preview today. Not exclusive or anything, but still cool I'm being sent these.

Preview: Deadpool And The Mercs For Money #1

Been reading a lot of the new 52 Justice League after being recd it in here. Loving it for the most part. I just got to Trinity War, really wish I would have read that after, haha, everything makes so much sense now. I have to say the one thing I really wasn't big on was the Black Adam and Shazam stories that ended like every issue and took an entire issue at like 20ish. I just wasn't into the characters and almost all of the dialogue felt pointless. I sort of skimmed. Since I guess Trinity War and Forever Evil are right next to each other I'm leaping forward now to issue 24.

I didn't know anything about Cyborg before this, I actually had to look it up after Batman V Superman to figure out who he is. I love him now though. I think my biggest surprise came from Aquaman. I'll admit to never being interested in the character for the obvious reasons that someone who has never read anything from him would be. I think the Throne for Atlantis storyline was my favorite though, and he's really interesting. Kind of want to get into his solo stuff.

Are any of the Deadpool books any good? I didn't like the way the first ANAD book started so I never picked up anything else.

I would highly recommend Johns' run on Aquaman. Probably my favorite book from New 52. I knew nothing going on and it was so great!

Oh shit, didn't know John's worked on it. That's good enough for me. Probably go to that after JL

Yeah he was most excited about Aquaman cuz he felt like he got a bad rap previously so he wanted to change how people thought about him, it turns out he's a badass! Johns did like the first 25 issues or so.

Yeah I'm definitely guilty of not taking him seriously, but Johns already turned that around for me with JL.

I've read (almost) all Deadpool comics except the latest run. In the 616 continuity I really liked the first run in the 90s although some of the jokes required knowledge of the era (72 issues I think). Cable/Deadpool is pretty awesome. Iirc it's around 60 issues. Way's run where it gets all meta with our generation (some Twilight parody, some mention of Ryan Reynolds and Wade dropping a shoryuken on Kitty Pryde) is kind of nice but got pretty weird at the end imo but I enjoyed it regardless. Deadpool isn't groundbreaking or anything but if the lead being obnoxious all the time (ie stuff like forcing the X-men to let him join while wearing Jean Grey's uniform) doesn't bother you I'd say give it a go.

    As for the non-616:

Wade Wilson's War (4 issues, it's kind of a whodunit type of story and begins with Deadpool being on trial as he was the only survivor of a masacre and believed to be the culprit)

Suicide Kings (4 or 5 issues, one of my favorites as the banter between Wade and Spidey and Daredevil and The Punisher were hilarious)

Deadpool MAX (a more serious take on Wade, with very delicate themes)

I would recommend some more but it's been a while since I've read them haha.

Sorry to make you type all of that, I just meant the new books. I read a lot of the old stuff. Deadpool and Cable is one of my faves.

Haha it's fine. I always like talking about Wade. Kind of made me want to reread those so I'm gonna do that thanks to your post. Did you read Agent X?

@Vivatoto haha thanks. Hope you enjoy!

I have not. But if Gail Simone wrote it, I know I should.

10 page preview will be released August to Barnes and Nobles only. Slap in the fucking face to Local Comic Shops.

Also: they are already promoting the next event 2 issues into their current event?!

Infinite Crisis is a sequel to Crisis on Infinite Earths but I would read it mostly as a trinity book. It's really about Batman, WW, and Supes.

That definitely is a slap in the face. I don't even buy anything from B&N unless they do buy 2 get one free. That's how I got V for Vendetta, Identity Crisis, and Hellblazer: Dangerous Habits. Typically the only good sale they have.

Does seem like they're promoting this way in advance.

I understand...a lot of towns don't even have an LCS. But to release this to B&N only and it's free?! Ridiculous. It will be in Comic Shops but not until October.

Marvel is no friend of the local comic shop. DC allows for returnability...not Marvel.

Yeah my LCS is a city over. But it's a cool little place so I go there when I can. He had a pretty big sale on trades during FCBD so he had to reorder a ton of stuff. I always see a bunch of Marvel trades in his 1/2 off boxes hah. I tend to just use Marvel Unlimited and only buy Image/DC/etc in physical trades.
