I know dustin does not actually believe in getting along with racists I just dont know why he decided to write such an ignorant song that works to downplay what really amounts to atrocious ideology in the current political atmosphere.

it plays right into the ‘centrist’ closeted republican playbook that attempts to chip away at social progress by asserting the personal argument that political turmoil of any kind is worse or ‘more frustrating’ than the violent and intolerant ideologies that are being opposed.

Maybe Dustin doesnt know that his lyrics follow thought patterns of troll posters on reddit, but it looks like his mind works the same way. At best with this song, hes got his eggs in the wrong basket.
