It's common in guacamole recipes online and I had a friend make it one time. It was awful.

Ok.

When I make Mexican food I eat both guac and sour cream but I don't mix them together.

 

my average guac is just

avocado
salt
lime juice
paprika
fresh jalapeno chunks
sometimes raw onion chunks

 

I don't add sour cream to guac, but I don't mind if they're swirled together or mixed on the plate.

 

google tells me he uses greek yogurt

 

Also, my guac is a cheat.

I still think it's weird. Avocado is really fatty and the flavor is so mild... I think using something like yogurt or sour cream really takes away from the flavor of the avocado.
