Yeah but we all have our own perspectives here haha. If a team takes a guy I consider a late 2nd rounder in the first I reserve the right to think it’s a crazy move haha.

It’s possible for a team to wildly reach for “their guy” and we call that reaching. That’s the whole reason why BPA emerged as a draft strategy

Sweat and Ferrell have better tape. There’s more projection involved in drafting Burns early imo

 

I at least agree with him that Oruwariye is underrated.

 

Sweat and Ferrell have better teammates. Burns was the focal point of coverage. It's like when people say Quinnen didnt produce. Look at who he plays and how they gameplan around him. You couldn't do that with Sweat cause of Simmons and you couldn't do it with Ferrell because of them having four early round picks on their line.

 

I get that but I also don’t think Burns has a very good inside counter and that limited his production as well. He’s lengthy and athletic as shit but he’s a bit undersized weight wise and still needs to work on his arsenal of hand combat / diversify his approach. Those are the things I love about Sweat and Ferrell

 

He is the literal exact same weight as Von Miller, wut.

Yeah but Miller’s selling point was a lower center of gravity, excellent balance, and also some of the best technique of any pass rusher the last decade. He did have a strong inside counter. And he WAS knocked for his size even though he was considered a top prospect

 

I was previously worried about Montez Sweat’s size too, to be fair, until he absolutely bullied people at the Senior Bowl and hushed those concerns

That’s when I started to love him and fully trust his tape translating to the NFL level

I literally do not care about size. It's 2019. The best rookie QB was 6'0". 3/4 of the best QBs in the NFL are under 6'3".

Also, you argue against the size of edge guys, something that is often proven irrelevant, but argue against Jonah William's size concerns haha.

Jonah doesn’t have size concerns lol. He’s 6’5” 320 pounds. He has athleticism concerns.

I would also argue that size is much more important when you’re talking about a position that’s battling bigger dudes for leverage. Obviously quarterback size has no bearing on this discussion. So that’s two false parallels you just made.

You want a counterexample? Vic Beasley. His lack of size continues to hold him back. Undersized pass rushers are certainly a risk to flop.

Burns has length but it’s also easier to make a taller skinner player lose his balance. It’s a legitimate concern.

Tyrann Mathieu, Tarik Cohen, Darren Sproles, Nickell, Anthony Sherman, Niles Paul, Shaq Mason, Isaiah Wynn, Lamarcus Joyner, etc....

The Vic Beasley that had 15.5 sacks in one season? That one? The Vic Beasley that is 6'2", 235 pounds, which is VERY different than 6'5" 250lbs? The same Beasley whose success is hindered by Atlanta drafting him instead of a team that could better utilize his skillset?
