I have not been able to get away from the Dog's Blood EP. It's risen up my rankings quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. Grey and Black As Jet are up there among their best songs.

I loved the title track instantly but the other tracks have grown on me.

Oh yea, Dog's Blood is fantastic as well. The whole EP is 4/4. It only just clicked with me that it is their most George prominent release since the self-titled. Dallas is only singing at the end of Dog's Blood. Wade doesn't appear to be singing at all. Maybe he is part of the "Black As Jet!" shouts though?

Easily Jordan's best performance with the band too.

Didn't realize how George heavy it is but that is cool.

You are right about Jordan too he sounds amazing on this. I thought he was tremendous on Crisis though but everything is tremendous on Crisis.

Found a copy of Kurt Vonnegut's Welcome to the Monkey House for only $8 yesterday. I've always wanted to read the short stories behind It Was Fear Of Myself That Made Me Odd, No Transitory, and Happiness By The Kilowatt. Should be an interesting read.

It is. I grew up a huge AOF fan and with that being my favorite album, I felt like an idiot not knowing this connection. My ex is a huge Vonnegut fan and showed me this back when I lived in Philly.

What are some of the references? The only reference I picked up on from No Transitory was what I assume is a Macbeth reference in the "tomorrow and tomorrow' lines.

That one is the least correlated imo.

Did some digging and found this one you can read.

Read The Euphio Question yesterday, which is the one Happiness By The Kilowatt is inspired by. Loved it. For me, the song was always about the numbness of depression and anything you try to do to distract from it can be fleeting and won't actually make you truly happy, it'll just leave you in a momentary trance. The story really adds to the song for me and the idea that happiness isn't something you can just easily buy.

Openers are amazing, it's great that they have different ones on both nights of Toronto too. Can't believe I'm getting Glassjaw.

Finally got my vinyl and struck out on it being a glow-in-the-dark one.

Crazy that Pat and those guys got to where they are today after watching them in the local scene in Albany for so long. Drug Church isn't for everyone, but they're damn good at what they do.
