I personally really do not want Rey to be of the Skywalker family by blood, but I am consciously trying to trust that Kathleen Kennedy knows what she is doing... The news that J.J. Abrams consulted with George Lucas on the story a little bit was interesting, although I am not sure how I feel about that entirely.

Here's my wild base level plot speculation: Finn knows some vague information on how the FO was working off of contingency plans from the Empire, so they go on a mission to find these plans, which then leads them to the Death Star ruins. There Rey has another crazy Force vision like in TFA and she sees Palpatine. Information/revelations from this vision lead them to go back to Jakku. Something big about the force is revealed, so Rey needs to go there and seek it out. Kylo is on their tail, goes to the Death Star separately and has a similar vision. Now the FO knows where the Resistance is headed and we get the big final showdown.

Each director of the Disney movies has consulted with George, I believe. I'm not sure many of his ideas have actually been used, but I think it's just kind of a basic courtesy they extend him

I mean, it’s the end of the saga, they had to talk to George. Without him it would have never started.

They’ll be continuing this saga long after George Lucas and I am all of us are dead

I can remember as a little kid, the scene in Empire with Lando's “You slimy double-crossing no-good swindler. You got a lotta guts coming here after what you pulled” being one of my absolute favorite parts of the movie. Just really seemed like these two guys had a real history. Two awesome actors, with Billy Dee's delivery and Harrison's great bewildered reaction.

Did you like the way Solo manifested that relationship?

When we get an announcement for Star Wars: Episode X in 2027, we can revisit this

To be completely honest, I don't really remember a whole lot about the Lando / Han relationship from Solo... I only saw it one time and I have to watch it again. My main takeaways from Solo were really that I actually bought into Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo and loved his performance, and that the film was actually really pretty solid and enjoyable overall. (And I was dead against this movie even being made in the first place and think it is the absolute wrong type of film for them to be fleshing out the SW universe cinematically.)

I love Donald Glover, but his Lando in Solo didn't really leave a lasting impression on me... If I had to venture a guess, I would say that Lando's character probably changed a whole lot between the movie Lord & Miller were making and the one Ron Howard ultimately delivered. I could be dead wrong on that, that is fully speculation on my part.

Gotcha. My theory is that Lord and Millers version of Lando probably was more like an impression of Billy. In the scene where Lando takes everybody to the Falcon for the first time he sounds like he’s doing a Lando impression. I have a strong feeling Lord and Miller did that scene because it’s the only scene or one of the few that feels like that and they reshot most of the movie but who knows.

Personally I really liked Han and Landos interactions. Thought they had good chemistry. The Sabaac scenes were two of my favorites of the movie.

Solo was solid and pretty entertaining, but imo easily the least memorable of the Disney SW films thus far.
