Just when you thought Tampa could creep back into this game

 

Yeah well Jackets took the first 2 in DC last year and we know how that went.

Hear me out folks: maybe Panarin for Saad was not the best trade

 

this Tampa / Columbus series is blowing my mind on so many levels.

Tampa:
- Washington upset you last year, people say you always disappear in the playoffs
- you blaze through the regular season to have pretty much the 2nd or 3rd best regular season ever, but who cares? what are you gonna do in the playoffs? everyone seems to believe the Cup is your to lose
- you lead 3-1 in the 3rd period of game 1 at home.
- you lose 4-3 at home in game 1. ouch.
- you get blown out and outplayed in game 2, at home. ouch.
- people are howling that you're disappearing in the playoffs AGAIN and this is a major, major debacle of a year
- but... your opponent did this last year and then lost 4 straight so there issssss hope

Columbus:
- your two best players have said STFU about a new contract and want out
- you decide not to trade them and trade for more people who don't want to sign with you after the season ends
- you bumblefuck your way into the 2nd wild card spot to take on the 2nd or 3rd greatest regular season team of all time in the first round of the playoffs while your franchise has never seen the second round EVER
- you're down 1-3 in the 3rd period of game 1, all hope seems lost
- you somehow fucking win game 1
- you demolish this great opponent of yours in game 2, you're up 2-0 in the series!
- but... you did this last year and then lost 4 straight so there issssss apprehension and worry about how fucking up two straight 2-0 series leads will forever make you a laughing stock

Am I insane or is the pens/isles game insanely long? I can’t fucking believe the third period still hasn’t started. I need to go to bed

 

I think all the penalties and scuffles have extended the game big time. I assume this started around the same time as TB/CBS and that game just ended while this game has 13 mins left lol

 

Kuch should be suspended for that dirty-ass hit too. It was a lot like Kadri's from last year and he got 3 games, so Kuch will probably get something if the league genuinely cares about safety. The Lightning is not looking good at all.

 

The jets look horrible.

 

RIP Pens. They are consistently dog shit in afternoon games so they’ll be down by 3 games on Sunday.
