I mean he wasn't at celebration like last time - which makes me think he's a getting Dooku-ed.

I don't like the title, more because of what it seems to imply than just as judgement on those four words.

Trailer was absolutely fucking incredible though. Holy shit.

  6. what a wild ride. just caught up in this thread. It was fun to watch the trailer with my son as it streamed live. He couldn't have cared less but it was still fun. He only cares about storm troopers still, if anyone remembers me showing him some of TFA and then all of ANH

Chris Terrio is a little bit of a wild card for me, but J.J. Abrams as director and Kathleen Kennedy as producer is a massive HELL YEAH from me. Especially in the sort of old-school sense of the roles where producers were more respected as the person really in charge of everything, story included.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more relieved in connection with a movie than when JJ was announced to replace Trevorrow on this

  16. I may be way off base here and I don't spend much time in here but would Spielberg been embraced or shunned for helming a SW film? As an 80s kid that grew up idolizing him, it would have made me feel super warm and fuzzy inside. I watched Ready Player One with that wide-eyed child-like amazement and I put it on at least once a month.

The ONLY reason that was ever briefly a thing was because of the FUCKLOAD of money Jurassic World made, and that is ultimately the name of the game.

The scenes in Jurassic World where they first show up at the park via train thing play as if the most talented filmmaker in the history of the medium literally tried to create a scene in the most banal, flat, uninteresting way possible, as if their own mother were on some sort of life support where she would die immediately if her pulse raised one single BPM or if she experienced any excitement whatsoever and they wanted to film something she could watch safely.

I think I remember reading that George Lucas very much wanted Steven Spielberg to direct on of the prequels, I think even Episode I, but Spielberg felt SW was really George's baby and that he should direct.

He’s said he’ll never do it. Shame though because I’d really love to see what he’d do.

I agree, the thought of Spielberg directing a Star Wars film is awesome.

Itll never happen because of his friendship with George and frankly I think the time has passed. I do love the idea and really he shouldve been the one to do the prequels but yea give the new ones to new film-makers with new visions.

I'm nervous about that aspect too. I admittedly haven't seen either BvS or Justice League, but from what I understand they are really bad. I remember enjoying Argo but not being blown away. The script seemed solid though. I've heard people say his contributions to the dialogue in BvS are the more enjoyable parts? I dunno. Nervous, but there's enough proven talent behind this that I'm sure it'll be good at the very least.

There's a rumor/theory that Spielberg ghost directed the final fight of the throne room scene in RotJ.

Overall I trust in JJ. Im really not nervous about the movie being enjoyable and fun or "good". My only apprehension with JJs movies is how deep it is. I need messages and things to chew on. Also I want more risks and bigger swings. I want it to capture my wonder and fascination like TLJ did. But I have total faith that it will be a fun ride.
