The more I think about the idea that the name/idea of Jedi is gone and the new iteration of them will be referred to as a Skywalker, the more I absolutely love it. I really hope that's what the title is referring to.

 

Palpatine is the only good character in the prequels after Obi-Wan. And he's the best character in terms of how he's written, in my opinion.

I just can’t see Palpatine being alive. Why resurrect him to kill him right back off? I think it’s much more likely that before he died he did something or puppet mastered some shit for after he was gone to continue his legacy. Also, who the fuck is Snoke now if this dude was in fact alive the entire time? Thank god Infinity War comes out in three weeks.

Me too. I really really do. And if its revealed that Palpatine actually created Anakin Skywalker and his lineage turned out to be a legacy of heroes...just fucking brilliant.

 

I'm cool with the force flip as long as it's in real time and the slo-mo was just for the trailers.

So much about whether it looks/feels like a Jedi versus a superhero is how it's staged and filmed. If the action movements are turned into slo-mo glamour shots (a la the most recent X-Men films), it'll look less grounded and more like superpowers.

Also I rolled my eyes when the teaser said “the saga ends” because obviously that’s ridiculous

 

I don't know much, if anything, about that theory so I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. But the fact that Skywalkers have been on both sides for so long and have been instrumental in bringing them to an end, it makes sense that their name is adopted for future users of the new force.

That, in combination of themes from The Last Jedi about letting the past die, would support that even both the dark and light side knows that there's more to the force than staying on one side or the other.

 

Infinity War/MCU doesn't hold a candle to this new Star Wars trilogy, imo

 

I’m more of a Star Wars guy myself, Marvel is and has been pretty boring for a while. At least we get an ending of sorts in a month was my main point haha.

How do you guys feel about the potential Kylo Ren redemption arc? I think it could be good if done well because the character is interesting and has a lot of depth but I sort of feel like he's beyond redemption with some of the things he has done.

He is kind of just Samuel L Jackson with a lightsaber and that’s it but I like it.

 

It’s crazy that we are getting both the endings of the Skywalker saga and the Infinity saga (the name for the first 22 MCU films) in the same year.

I'd rather him end up being the ultimate evil power and end the whole series on a down note. They don't have the balls to do that though, imo, so I'd rather him die as an evil character than be redeemed.

 

So now both Yoda AND Palpatine are confirmed to return. Very nice

 

This trailer, and the sequel trilogy in general, has really given R2 the shaft. Do not like that.
