That was my initial thought, too. Granted I haven't seen the original trilogy in a while, so the Emperor's laugh isn't as instantly recognizable for me. Would also make the title of this movie make sense.

Yeah pretty much this. The beauty of the message of Rey's character that Rian Johnson created will be completely destroyed if she's revealed to be a Skywalker.

Abrams is great. I just watched it again.

Its probably Palpatine as a force ghost or vision... who knows but... like... let’s wait and see

 

Everyone goes up against Palpatine and Plagueis.

It's a great teaser, no doubt about that. But the title, Lando, Death Star, and Palpatine worries me.

I do love her white lightsaber. That looks perfect.

 

Rey is a Palpatine confirmed. The Skywalker is now the villain and the Palpatine is the hero.

The Force Awakens The Last Jedi...The Rise of Skywalker.

Based off the theory mentioned in here that I kinda like, it would seem the Force has awakened many new Jedi and we are all Skywalker now.

There is “another Skywalker” and it is us.

 

it makes at least 20% sense for Luke and the jedi to be assholes. Im open to that and Id prob enjoy it even. But most of my feelings on that are informed mostly from the prequels. Also the Luke and Kylo history makes Luke look shady.

 

Imagine thinking anything negative about Broom Boy and what he represents

 

There are some angles that it looks like a bluish-white but it's almost like how some flourescent light tubes are clearly white but have a tinge of blue hue to them. I think the intention is that it's a white light.

You know, I just thought of something. So in the campaign of Battlefront II, the Emperor had a droid that had a digital version of himself in it that gave order to the Empire to destroy everything after Endor. What if he had a version of that in the second Death Star and it’s in the wreckage on Endor?

 

The death star gets completely obliterated in both movies so this is something I'm scratching my head at.

 

He’s getting his own Disney Plus show

 

Definitely a possibility, since Battlefront II's campaign is canon
